UPDATE: Osprey Pair Using The New Nest Platform

This photo was taken yesterday afternoon, 28 FEB 2014.

If you know this story, you know why we are so happy to see these ospreys using the nest platform here on the campus of Cedar Key School.

That is pretty cool.

The online news magazine Slate mentioned an eagle cam that's located not too far from us on the campus of Berry College. They have babies.

Thanks for news of the osprey's return. You and your fellows deserve another round of applause for saving this nesting spot.

Here in the lower Tidewater, a nearby osprey nest built on a transmission tower has succumbed to winter's depredations helped along by neighboring bald eagles availing themselves of handy nesting material. I'm looking forward to the osprey's reaction when they return, probably any day now, or at least soon after our latest (last, please) winter storm.
