I like all your map stuff because I like maps (I'm a nerd...I know), but I like your picture much better. For some reason I'm reminded of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess..."Summertime"...one of my favorites.
That's a way down upon beautiful photo there! I had looked at the Florida topos, not realizing you were so far north, and there on the Suwannee, too. Down in Naples, in TF's territory, looks like the entire terrain is a watershed. BTW, thanks for the suggestion about Ward Scientific. The test strips look to be out of stock, but that's a great idea for water testing. Of course now I'm trapped in all the other goodies they have.
This is one beautiful photo. I suppose there are gators in that water, but looking at it makes me want to get in a canoe and just see what's around the bend.
Hick, It does kind of symbolize a sultry summer day...in between hurricanes.
Wayne, I use Wards ampule water testing kits with the kids for simplicity and safety. The old Hach kits had some heavy metal powdered reagents that always made me nervous with knuckleheads. The ampules (is there an o in that word...I think so...anyway..) are so safe and simple to use, much better in the field. We test for O, Nitrates, Phosphates, etc. I should say we used to...lately the FCAT test rules all to the detriment of ed.
Pablo, I have a canoe you and Libby can borrow. Most of the alligators are shorter than it and they are pretty shy. Don't take Max in the water.
I did find a dead one once that was almost as long as the borrowed canoe I was in. I know that because I pulled up along side him and had my bowman hold the canoe steady while I pried a tooth from his mouth. The tooth including some root is 2 1/4 inches long.

Some "expletive deleted" had shot it.
