Tubing Today...Real Post Tonight...I Hope...

Gotta go tubing on a crystal clear, springfed river.

Enjoy your Monday, worker bees.

  1. My envy and my regard for you, FC. I'd be tubing, too, if I had the chance. (Yeah, something has to be done about these damned five-day work weeks!)

  2. the Ichetucknee is really nice...especially on a weekday when there's not very many people there.

  5. HA HA! I'm not working!! *does the "awesome-happy Monday's don't mean anything to me" dance*

Of course, I'm also not out there having any FUN - although I might force myself to walk around the block 5 or 10 times later on today.

  6. Hope you have fun!
We're just the usual "back at it on Monday" here. Of course it's a bit too toasty to be outside today anyway: Expected high of 96F with 94% humidity, man if we only had a beach!

  7. Ahhhhhhh....tubing! We used to get in at Alderman's Ford near Pinecrest and tube all the way out to the gulf back in the high school days. The short trip was from Alderman's Ford to Lithia Springs park (or the Belle Shoals bridge if that's where the car was). Nowadays the Alafia has a sign up about polluted water and the Belle Shoals bridge area has been proclaimed off limits--even though the river is public domain. Gotta keep traveling to find the good stuff anymore.

  10. At 6:00pm it was 109* in wonderful Ft. Sill, Ok and not a spring fed river in sight. Jealous?

  11. Pablo,
Whose crazy idea was that anyway...certainly not the French.

    Hurricane Teen,
That was the exact situation. It was perfect, we had the river to ourselves...almost.

    Ava,
    It was fantastic!

    Deb,
72 degree crystalline water flowing through beautiful protected forest, under blue skies.
    Go ahead be jealous...it's okay.
    ;)

    Mrs. S,
Enjoy it...you'll be working soon enough :)

    Thunder,
If there WAS a beach there, we'd never have met!

    Likes2mtnbike,
It's not just nostalgia, more like a physical pain isn't it. I know, I feel it too.

    Hoss,
Is there no end to your talents?

    Abandoned,
Thanks, it was a perfect morning and then it rained an hour after we finished tubing, so we did good!

    Kevin,
Damn buddy, I'm not sure what's worse...being stationed in the midwest or going to the mideast.
I guess you're not getting to the reunion at the end of July.

  12. No, I won't make the reunion. Kelly is going. She knows more people there than I do anyway. Are you going?

I'm ready to leave this place, the mideast can't be this bad.

  13. Paul W. can't make it either. This stinks, you two are at the top of the reasons to go list.
