Wrapping Rap

WELL, I'VE BEEN WRAPPING ALL DAY
AND I'M HERE TO SAY
MY FEET, THEY ARE ACHING
THE TAPE, IT KEEPS BREAKING
I STARTED OUT STRONG
NOW MY FOLDS ARE ALL WRONG
MY HANDS HAVE LOTS OF PAPER CUTS
FORGETTING WHERE I HID STUFF IS DRIVING ME NUTS
RIBBONS, PAPER, BAGS, BOXES, TAPE, AND TAGS
I FEEL MY WRAPADELIC ENERGY START TO SAG
I GOTTA KEEP GOING, GOTTA CONTINUE
EVEN IF MY DEBIT CARD IS COMPLETELY WORN THROUGH
SANTA NEEDS HELP AND I'M HIS MAN
IF I DON'T FINISH, THE SNOW WILL HIT THE FAN
SO PASS ME THE TAPE AND GET OUT OF MY WAY
TIME IS SHORT, AND I GOTTA FILL THAT SLEIGH

  2. my son once played a penguin in a school holiday musical. they had cool 99-cent sunglasses, and one of their songs was a rap piece: "ribbons and bows, uh huh, ribbons and bows." i think the choreography pulled it off, personally.

excellent edward scissorshands imitation, by the way. very good poetry.

  4. Maybe next year you could teach Feather and Flounder to wrap. I know they'd love to help. They'll put a paw right where you need it to make that very special bow.

Merry Christmas, FC. Hope you and the Cracker family have a wonderful holiday.

  9. He hung up the stockings
    From the tallest of boles,
    And stuffed all the presents
    Into gopher tortoise holes.
    Then up to the chimney
And was gone in a flash.
Was it Santa or was it
    Snidely Whiplash?

  10. FC, I'd like to see you and Roger and Wayne do karaoke together. The post loaded a moment before the title and I thought, "oh, dear. He raps, too."

I came by to thank you for all of the other ways you brighten the community of bloggers and to wish you and your family a most wonderful Christmas. I can easily imagine that your place is a very fun and uplifting place to be on this special day- full of love and goodwill and good food and creative energy. Merry Christmas and peace, health and happiness in the new year.

  12. an off-topic query
    cause i am so weary.
when you got a new template
did your blogroll go with it?
    the directions we find
    just boggle our mind.
    enter each one by one?
    that just can't be fun.
    we have a nice list
    too bad it gets missed.
