The Pool Is So Crowded In The Summertime

I was on the high dive, about to do a double triple half gainer with a lemon twist when ...

... this huge guy in a blue bathing suit jumped into the pool.
So I waited until he finished slinging half the water out onto the ground. I was just about ready to make my dive when ...

... Tyrannosaurus Chix showed up and tried to drink the remaining contents of the pool.
So, I waited some more.

Eventually megabird left, but by that time, I'd lost my dive concentration and decided to just sit around the edge of the pool and chill. Maybe I'll get lucky.
I hear there's some cute chicks that hang out here ...

  1. That is a very cute and patient bird, do you know the species? Birds inhabit a strange, hierarchical world. I like to watch to see who pushes whom around. It's not always by size, because the little chickadees throw around their few ounces with quite a bit of might.

  3. It's tough being the little guy sometimes, especially when strange, human-selected creatures like Tyrannosaurus Chix roam around.

Tufted titmouse? Not a regular MN species, anyway.

  4. Robin,
Chickadees are pretty aggressive ... great bluffers. I thought it was a titmouse and with ThreeCollie and Deb dittoing, I'm going with that.

    ThreeCollie,
Glad you liked my bird thoughts. These pics were taken in 5 minutes yesterday afternoon.

    Deb,
Your ID sounds good to me. That Tyranno Chick is my favorite banty hen. She's an escape artist and actually burrows out of the chicken tractor cage.
    She's no birdbrain!

  5. I wonder if the little songbirds even recognize chickens as their kin.

    Cute pics!

  6. I love it. The pics would be fun on their own, but the storyline on top of them is LOL funny.

  7. Laurahinnj,
Probably not even though this little banty hen actually does fly.

    Wren,
It all started with the first pic, the titmouse just looked like a guy looking before he leaps.
    Glad you got a chuckle!

  8. The pictures are cute but we don't have birds that come down to bathe anymore (can you guess why?).
I guess they use the creek way back in the back yard instead and I really do miss watching them splash around like that.

There certainly is a disadvantage to having certain pets (cats)running loose.
