Here's a peek at my "pond" before Fay's rainfall passes through.
Essentially, it's just a grassy hole in the ground at this time.
Fay's eye is predicted to slide east of us rather than over us as I had hoped for, but the effects and the rain spread far beyond that, so I'm still hoping for some replenishment.
I will let you know.
I'm crossing my fingers for you. (Does that rain spread as far as Missouri by any chance?)
ReplyDeleteWhoa! You weren't kidding, that IS a dry pond!
ReplyDeleteWell, if Fay turns around in the Atlantic and comes back across Florida as predicted, that'll get the ball rolling. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Come on rain!!
ReplyDeleteIs that a diving board on the side? If so, there's a Florida Cracker joke in there somewhere, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get that much-needed rain. Looking forward to seeing the family in the pond with water up to their necks.
Fay is a really confused storm right now. For a while it looked like it would cross right over us in NW Georgia. Now the track from the hurricane center goes up towards NE Florida, then right west along the Ga- Fla border. We may get nothing out of Fay up here.
ReplyDeleteI wish you rain.
ReplyDeleteI wish you all our rain if you want it! Hope the pond is soon flooded and teeming with interesting things.
Heh...we'll share. Heered that the our water table is movin' back toward normal...what say ye, Oh Former SJWM Mufti?
ReplyDeleteThe Troll Forecasting Method predicts you'll get very little rain as a direct effect of Fay. And just a pleasant NE breeze beginning about noon today.
ReplyDeleteYour old stomping grounds on the East Coast will get more, actually.
We're measuring tropical storm force gusts here in Melbourne now. We're in for a heck of a ride today into tonight...And, to the chagrin of all of us students, FIT is the only school that did not cancel classes today. So I will have to bike to my 3:00 class in tropical storm conditions. Niiiice.
ReplyDeleteFay may not bless you with too much rain now, but maybe some when she re-enters Florida on Thursday. Hope to see a nice full pond and some filled swamps sometime soon!
By the way, I'm keeping a live blog at www.tsfay.blogspot.com if you are interested.
ReplyDeleteI know, a shameless plug.
Beautiful landscape shot. But, up in these parts they build their deer stands higher off the ground. Ha,Ha.
ReplyDeleteBro J
Pablo,
ReplyDeleteWith the changing track on this storm ... it just might!
Laura,
Could you cross your toes also. We need all the rain we can get.
Ditto dat Dani!
Wren,
LOL! ... or at least Bear swimming around in it!
Mark,
Isn't that just like a woman?
3C,
If it teems I will share!
:)
Aunty Belle,
I was pretty low on the SJRWMD mufti career ladder, but it is rising here too.
Troll,
Probably fairly accurate, but the first bands to reach us are raining on my place right now.
HT,
Shameless dude.
LOL!
FIT! I didn't know where you were going!
One of the few schools with an Aquaculture degree program.
Bro,
I just use my daughter's window upstairs.
Well no wonder you were doing the hurricane dance! That is the dryest pond I've ever seen LOL Much longer and you may have to stop calling it a pond at all.
ReplyDeleteSCMomma,
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll just open up one of those mud bog arenas ... I already have a mud hole.
Not one single drop of rain here on the west coast that just yesterday was the destination of our friend, Fay. She faked us out good. But, thanks to Fay, I got to sleep late, do some baking (should a real storm ever come this way, I plan on just going into a diabetic coma and miss it all) and even went for a nice cool horseback ride. I hope you get enough rain to cover the frogs at least.
ReplyDeleteDON"T YOU WORRY. its a coming. i'm in the middle of it now. well the wind part. you are getting the rain part, should be by now. and lemmme tell ya... HUGE. FLOOD> MASSIVE. The canal behind my house is normally at a 10 ft. bank decline. not today its almost up to the bank.. wowza... git yer fishing pole out. YOu're gonna get a pond back...
ReplyDeleteCathy S,
ReplyDeleteI think whenever I write about a storm coming this way, they turn in some other direction.
From now on I'll keep my mouth shut.
JOJO,
Wow! Hang in there! Be safe!!
Batten down the hatches matey!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have sent the rain we had last Sunday to you!
You're welcome to come visit us and bring buckets for the 12"+ that we're supposed to get around J-ville... I'd be happy to share! Thankfully our house is not in a low area and there is a city storm drain right next to our driveway.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy to share the ocean that Fay has left me!
