Those look like our woodpeckers. Both downy and red-bellied are common residents at Bluff Spring Fen. Ours are much colder than these guys at the moment. Nice pix.
No green leaves or blue skies for the downies, hairy or northern flicker lady at my feeders today. Rock hard suet to work on and snowflakes on their heads...it is 0 degrees at the moment. Caroline at 44N 103W
I'm guessing the second one's a Downy, by its body shape.
ReplyDeleteGlad Porki's feeling better.

Deb,
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm never sure if I'm seeing a hairy or a downy.
Doug,
Ours are about 48 degrees at the moment.
Chris n Jon,
Thanks! Just out walking with Bear.
Caroline,
Zero just sounds so cold ... really, to me it SOUNDS colder than minus temperatures.
Stay warm!
