On The Road Again

Well, it's that time again.
Time to head back to school for another year of teaching and learning.
I learn so much on this job.

And ... while I will be the new guy at Cedar Key, daughter Emma will be the VERY new teacher at my old school.

Hard to say who will have the biggest butterflies in their stomachs, but I'm thinking mine are a wee bit smaller than hers.

However the first day may go for this father and daughter teaching team, we both know relief is waiting at the end of the day ... waiting patiently for us to return.

Nothing like a Bear snuffle to make you feel rejuvenated and ready to do it again.

  1. Trepidacious new beginnings - good luck to you both! Has Emma got a corn snake and aquaculture set-up for her class room?

  2. Monumental day! Hugs to Emma on her first day. Tell her she is not to smile until Thanksgiving! Hugs to Bear, too, who dreads this day, I am sure.

  3. I wish you both the best of luck with your new adventures.

  4. My boy started back today, which means I can get back to a more regular schedule at work. The dogs, however, don't care for the new order of things. They are thrilled when we get home (imagine my weiner dog trying to jump up between two GSD mixes...). I love the easier schedule summers, but I also love getting back to my routine!

I hope both you and Emma have stellar first days!

    Good luck to you both!!

It is such fun seeing your own personal kiddos going to their "first day of school"!

Congrats to Emma for her first teaching job!! An exciting day for her and a proud day for you and Mrs. FC.

Poor Bear. This will be a long day for the boy.

Hope your first day went well too.

  17. Holy cow. Is that a full-circle moment for you? If Emma takes after her famous daddy in the least little way, your old school is mighty lucky. The photo of Bear waiting tugs my heart. Chet Baker sat out on the stoop for almost two hours tonight, waiting for Phoebe to finish cross-country practice.

I think Julie hit the nail on the head ... definitely a full circle.
