COQUINA'S NEW POOL

Coquina test drove her puppy pool for the first time yesterday.

Would she like it I wondered? Would she live up to her Labby Lineage or would she be that Lab that was afraid of water?

I shouldn't have worried.

She went nuts in the pool for about an hour until she finally ran out of puppy steam.

By that time she was soaking wet and covered equally in mud and leaves.

And you know what that means ...

After a bath, she came out all shiny and clean.

As soon as she was dry and fluffy again, she settled down for a nap with a favorite toy.

When she woke up, waiting for her was a bowl of dog food mixed with chicken skin, cartilage, and other yummy bits gleaned from the chicken and sausage gumbo making process.

On the  puppy scale of good days, this one ranked 10 bones.

  3. Oh, boy! That was some happy puppy.

It reminds me of my first doberman. Dobies are not known as water dogs, but she loved the water. Once at the ocean (Pacific in this case), she saw the water and took off running in the surf down the beach until we couldn't see her. Then she turned around and came back. She loved the water. Just like a certain chocolate puppy dog.

  8. Such an adorable pup!

I'm sending you $ for some datil pepper seeds. We love datil pepper sauce. We first had it in St A...And yes, we heard that the peppers only grew in St A area. ..and yes, we knew that could not be true. But it sounded good...and sold a lot of bottles of Datil sauce.

  9. Love the towel picture too. My dog, although, not a lab only likes the water if it is in the form of a muddy stream or river. Then she dives right in but she wouldn't go in a clean doggy pool.
