This is "Coral Bean". The hummingbirds love this native Florida wildflower. This one is growing near my blueberry patch. After the tubular red flowers are pollinated by hummingbirds, a seed pod will appear. The seeds are also red and have a very hard seed coat. A word of warning if you have small children, the red seeds are poisonous and might look like candy to a munchkin. This one grew from some seeds I collected. Most of the year it's just a thorny bush, but when it blooms...WOW! Posted by Hello
