I think this Spicebush Swallowtail was newly emerged. It was too perfect and too calm to have been an "experienced" butterfly. The perch is Beauty Berry, one of our great native plants. Posted by Picasa

Thanks Hick,
Having lots of butterflies is one of the benefits of living too far out in the country for the mosquito control trucks to spray your area.Their spray takes out the good with the "bad".
