Looking northeast from 441 where it crosses the prairie. There is a herd of buffalo out there somewhere...no, not in this picture, but somewhere on the 21,000 acres.

Yes, buffalo ranged as far east and south as central Florida in the 1700's. Posted by Picasa

This picture belongs in a book. I am so jealous. This is just too beautiful. It is so different from the forest that I live in.

We saw the buffalo a few times when we lived there, and it always took my breath away. Buffalo is something I associate with the wild west, not Florida!
Loved these photos, brought back memories of home. :)
