Going For A Ride

The ride to the fairgrounds is about 20 miles. This was the warmest morning all winter, which was nice for the pigs. For once we got an early start which really paid off once we made it to the fairgrounds. The line of pig toting trucks was short when we arrived, but grew rapidly behind us.

Our pig story continues below... Posted by Picasa

Wait a minute! WAIT A MINUTE!

Dodge? I don't dodge 'em. I hit 'em.

Pablo,
Yes, I've seen pictures of your truck. I believe you.

Look how cute that piggy looks in the back of your pickup.

I once had a pig and I made the mistake of naming it "Oink" and I treated it just like a pet. The day came when it was to be butchered and needless to say we couldn't do it ourselves. So the day it was to go to market I opened its gate and it followed me into the back of the pickup and off we went.

Nobody wanted to go pick up the processed pig so I was elected...I cried so hard all the way home, with Oink now in packages. It was an experience I will never forget or repeat again. The only person who was able to eat Oink was my husband.
