Home Sweet Home ... Again

Home again, after a week of beach life and highschool reunioning. I've got tales to tell, but first I have to unpack all these toys and there's a bunch of laundry to do. (Yes, I know how to operate the washer and dryer)

I tossed every beach toy we had into my old trailer and I hauled it behind the Jeep. Surfboards, boogie boards, sandspikes, fishing rods, beach umbrellas, ice chests, etc. We probably looked a little like the Beverly Hillbillies...only without all the money.

...Mrs. FC drove a respectable distance ahead in the Escape. Posted by Picasa

Sandspikes?

I KNEW you would be the one.

The sandspikes look like something my husband uses. He uses various lengths of PVC pipe, one end is cut on an angle to make it easier to push into the sand. We also use them to anchor beach umbrellas. Can't wait to hear the stories that you brought back.

Debbie,
I have one I made like that and one store bought one, but not as nice as the linked one.

Would sand spikes also be good to anchor a fishing pole, so that you could free yourself to sit back under an umbrella, drinking lemonade while waiting for the fish to strike?

BTW...That's a great picture of you house.

Kelly said you kept her under control. Thanks. Also, that you were able to get some great pix of the reunion.

Even after a great weekend, it's still great to get home.

Good to see you back. And that's a cool house!

Abandoned,
That is what I mine are for...holding fishing rods when surf fishing. My wife has a sand screw for holding her beach umbrella.

Kevin,
She was excellent company...good thing she was there 'cause the FAB Five girls did not make it, plus the absence of you and Paul made it a bit more subdued. I was home by 11:00.

Deb,
Thanks. I wish I could say I built it like you guys. I can say I've remodeled 85% of the interior!

Deb said...

Well, mine ain't 85% built yet. So we'll see. :)

What a beautiful home! and welcome back. With all that beach stuff, sounds like your trip was a lot fun!

Deb,
Yeah, but when it is, you get braggin' rights.

Laura,
Thanks, it was fun. Now, I have to catch up on your site!

Thunder,
Just as soon as blooooger will let me! Grrr!

roger,
toys.mmmmmmm.

Pablo,
I originally left it unexplained and unlinked to see who would bite. I had my money on you or Hick. It's a pretty regional beachy device, so I thought it might cause pondering. :)

Your home is really nice.
Just wanted to pass that on. We work so hard to make our houses our homes and I think a pat on the back is in order once in a while.

Likes2mtnbike,
Thanks...After many moves earlier in life, I now can't imagine ever living anywhere else.

SO glad you're back - missed you muchly!! Can't wait to hear about what you did while you abandoned us all ;)

Mrs. S,
Thanks, that's very kind. Great to be back in the blogosphere, but I think going incommunicado is important to do once in a while.

hope your 30th went well.I bet some of the jocks didn't look so jockish and some of the geeks didn't look so geekish.

I'm going to echo likes2mtnbike and say that that is one fantabulous house.

I've seen sly aside-photos of the area in the last year, but never got such a very good impression. How did it come about?

Rick,
Very accurate. The nerds are wealthy and the jocks are...less ripped than they used to be. It was fun tho.

Wayne,
Why thank you. It was a combination of nice afternoon light and a rare case of lawn mowing. In fact just out of site to the right was Mrs. FC pushing a mower.(she made me crop her out).
I was actually taking BEFORE pictures as I plan to restain the exterior this winter.
