Actual Shocking Photos Of A Wild New Years Eve Party

Well, it was quite the wild party here in Pure Florida Land last night. If you follow me around that collage above, I'll share the shocking details...

Upper Left: There were generous libations ... the sparkling cider and grape juice flowed freely.

Upper Right: Emma and her cuz are obviously high in this photo ... about 14 steps high I believe. I installed each one and really should know ...

Lower Left: Of course, with all that grape juice and cider, it wasn't long before some partiers were "in the bag".

Lower Right: Excitement was high in the living room in the pre-Pictionary Game build up. Mr. Billy and Paul can hardly contain themselves. The girls won, but we boys think they used some unusual scoring methods ...

I fried a bunch of these. There were none left ... imagine that. We had some of those shrimp that I caught this fall too, along with an assortment of snacky stuff.
Just before midnight, the skies opened up with steady heavy rains and impressive lightning that completely ruled out any of our usual pyrotechnics, so it was a quieter new years (and safer) than usual.
Today, there are kids sprawled all over, ... cousins galore. They're watching games, laughing, riding around my woods on the cousin's 4 wheeler.
It's all good.
It's all soooo 2007ish.Posted by Picasa

Family, games, and food. Can it get any better?
Great way to ring in the new year. You know what I was doing at midnight? Sleeping. That just shows you how much of a party animal I am :-D

Our cat usually goes for the bag, first time I've seen a kid there! Very cute. We didn't wait until midnight for Roger to shoot off very old (20 years!) and very quiet bottle rockets. Nice burst of light before we called it a night.

Looks like you guys had a great party. Yes, very 2007ish. Hope it's a great year for you and yours.

A pair of fine posts, FC. Thanks. Our kids are almost the same age as yours, and I know just about how you are probably feeling. Everybody is still home, but soon, way, way too soon, it won't be that way. I know it is that time and it is the nature of things, but I dread it....hmmmmm I wonder if we really could buy those fields that adjoin ours to the back and buck up against the other roads...and build a couple houses back there...

Laurahinnj,
The bag baby is one of a set of beautiful twin nieces. They were so fun last night... into everything!

HTeen,
I didn't hit the rack til 1:20 ... post party cleanup detail.

Robin,
20 year old bottle rockets! I bet they were quiet :)
All the best to you and the pirate!

ThreeCollie,
I have often regretted not buying the pasture behind me when it was affordable ... just seemed too high at the time. Now ...
At least we can share our "oh no, they've grown up" angst over the net...

I remember those stairs, as well as the shrimp!

I was watching the storm system moving a bit souh of us and thinking - FC is going to get it all.

Fireworks are all well and good, but give me a good bout of lightning and thunder any day.

Happy New Year, Crackers!

Wayne,
Thanks, and yes we got it good when that storm came through. Some much needed rain.

Laura,
They must have been good, 'cause they vanished... I didn't get any leftovers the next day :(

Our New Year's eve event was pretty low key, as usual, again this year. The exciting news is that we were actually both still awake at midnight for the official celebration. Have I mentioned that getting old sort of sucks?!

WAIT JUST A MINUTE! What's in that bottle on the floor with all of those kid toys? That doesn't look like apple juice to me.
