Nice shots! We have an abundance of butterflies this year. Maybe it's all the milk weed we planted. I betcha it is. ;)

Down in your post about scallops, I asked you about a little snake we found. Any ideas?

Nice photos. We have had a couple of floks report Gulf Fritillaries as far north as the Chicago region this year. Highly unusual- which is too bad, because its a really beautiful butterfly.

I love the photos, but I especially love the simplicity of the text. Beautifully done, fc.

Thought about you today as we drove by on our way out to Fort Island Gulf to have breakfast on the beach...hope you weren't working too hard ;)

Lovely butterfly...and lovely flowers. I can see why they call it "butterfly ginger".

Pop,
I saw it. It makes sense that the worm lizard might be dark as a baby, lots of herps change color as they grow up. Did you get a pic?
I wish I were more helpful, but none of the tiny snakes I know are aggressive and actually, neither is the worm lizard.
I think only a pic could solve this mystery from my end.
Sorry.

Doug,
This one is a little tattered, but they really are a gorgeous critter.

ThreeCollie,
Would you repeat that in front of my wife?
:)

Robin,
Thank you. I'm not that good at the touchy feely stuff.

Sharon,
$12.95 at Home Depot!
I love gingers for their tropical look and carefree requirements.

Danielle,
Arrrghhh. I sat through a meeting all day.

Deb,
Thanks. It really looks like it's namesake.

I will have to check those out at my local HD. :) I got some great shots of the same butterfly at a local park, they have an awesome butterfly garden and they were swarming.

Sharon,
If you plant passionflower, you will get them at your place in large numbers.

We've got cabbage moths. I don't suppose you'd like a picture of one.
