And Then, Suddenly It Dawned Upon Me ...

A 2 minute video more for listening than watching.

My front yard at dawn this morning.

Crank up the volume and enjoy.

The birds know what's going on... it's a fresh new day, and the possibilities have them singing joyful songs.

As for the rooster... he's either a comedian, or something had him by the throat.

Sweet! I heard birds in the background that I have never heard before and I am always listening!

Is that a beginner rooster? I had one that sounded like that when he was learning the fine art of crowing. They try so hard. Too funny. Bird sounds at dawn are wonderful.

I love it in the early am when nature wakes up, sounds like an early morning turkey hunt. I prefer a aggressive tom belting out an awesome gobble to the rooster, but I believe they are both searching for the same thing, a willing partner!!!

FC,
Who was talking to who?

That was quite the morning chorus. I LOVE that time of day and the sounds that dawn with it. Did you see the moon this morning at daybreak? I tried to get a photo but failed.

Susan,
"TGIF" they were all saying the same thing!

Jenna,
Thanks for the corny photo in the citizen!

3C,
I think we need Julie Z. Globetrotter to decipher the background calls.

Ark Patti,
They are yearlings, most of em anyway.

Rick,
My roosters are out of luck there. The only hen is sitting on eggs.

Meems,
Gorgeous! I missed the shot opp, but enjoyed the view.

What a wonderful chorus of birds you have there. A fine song to wake up to.

That reminds me of how much I do NOT miss our roosters. :)

Robin,
A reward for early risers!

Rurality,
HOW can you not like rooster crowing? You should hear my jungle flock at sunset ... from high in the oaks.

This is GREAT! Once again, I can't wait to share this with kids from my classes. I'm sure they've never heard a real rooster crowing before...only movie versions (and this is better than a movie!).

I guess there's no chance of sleeping late around your house...it's quite a noisy place in the morning. But it's a nice noise!
