Ditto what Pablo said. Those are beautful and very jungle-fowl looking. What type are they and do they by any chance lay blue eggs?? Also, do they nest au naturale or do they have nesting boxes? I'm wondering if I dare have a couple of hens in downtown Thomasville. Local Cooper's Hawk would probably love me for it! :)
My friend Mary's free range chickens help with the grasshopper problems in her vegetable garden. They lay the most beautiful, tasty brown eggs. The scrambled eggs are yummy and the pancakes look like you put gold food coloring in them.
Cluck, cluck...cluck. This reminds me of the time the New England Patriots came to practice at my former high school when the Super Bowl was in Jacksonville...ha ha...That's a good blog post right there.

I love chickens! :) I just wish mine were legal like yours. :)
Does danger lurk in the tall grass?

How are the babies??
Red jungle fowl!!!!
Dani,
Your chicks are like secret agents!
Pablo,
It should, but this flock seems to have their act together. No adult losses in a long time.
Caroline,
These patrol and scratch constantly ... far into my woods. I wonder sometimes if they cross over into my neighbors.
Cindy,
They went somewhere else. Too much inbreeding to keep them.
Nice heels today.
Annie,
The original parent flock was "mixed banties" from Tractor Supply.
I think they look jungle fowly too.
Cluck, cluck...cluck.

You have very lovely chickens!
Native Mom,
True that! They need to stay off my porch tho!
HT,
I'm assuming your field was unmowed?
3C,
Thanks! I love their wild look.
Your chicks wear heels?
Anon,
My chicks are very fashion conscious.
Any trouble with hawks?
Ivan,
No, surprisingly. We have plenty of hawks, but plenty of cover too and it seems the chicks are holding their own.
