Burning Moonlight

My schedule is insane at the moment, so the only new nature photo I managed to snatch this week was the moon. It was shining over the high school last Saturday night when I returned to my classroom to work on 3 different, yet redundant types of NoChildLeftBehind accountability garbage.
I have such a rant on educational "accountability" building up in me that my head may just explode.
Deep breath ... you don't come here for that though, so enjoy this moon you Moon Doggies, Moonbats, Moon Rivers, Moon Lovers, Moonophiles, etc.
In other news, my academic team has their first competition of the season today. I'll let you know tomorrow how my nerds did against their nerds.
Friday night's football game is in Quincey, Florida.
Who schedules these things?
If you are Florigeographically challenged, that's beyond Tallahassee and about two and a half hours ride from here.
Gonna be a long day.
Gotta get there first though ... it's only Tuesday.

That moon looks like a Florida orange.

So, Friday night you'll be in my neck of the woods. Quincy is only about 15 minutes away from us (Tallahassee). Best of luck in the game!

That moon is gorgeous! Looks like you could just reach up and touch it.
Good luck with all you have going on this week.

Sometimes it is actually nice to get mooned.
And I don't mind rants at all. Sometimes you gotta.

Not sure how you manage so much, so well and still keep posting beautiful photos for us. I appreciate that, esp. since some of us seem to be constantly derailed by deadlines, projects, hot flashes, whatever.

Your nerds- is that anything like Academic Games (AGLOA)? I know a cute nerd who came in first in the nation, senior division, on her Linguishtik team. Took the LSATs last weekend. :-) Good luck with both your academic team and the football game- you'll get there.

Now I have to scroll back and find a recent photo of Bear.

Lovely shot! You probably didn't know this, but Saturday was the Chinese Autumn Moon Festival--a major holiday celebrating the biggest full moon of the year. So you chose a perfect night for a moon shot!

I was hoping one of my blogging buddies would post a photo of this moon. We're in the woods here and can't see the moon through the trees. A lovely shot, fc.

You know how I feel about rants. I say rant away, that's what friends are for.

OFr starters you forgot to give a shout out to warewolves! ;-)

Second: OH please let me rant and rave for you!
I think the dumbest thing I've heard lately was the president stating: "Our chilred do not spend enough time in school" referring to why our kids are not as educationally well rounded these days! I'm thinking if we do away with the stupid standardized proficiency test requirements and the required curriculum associated with that and allow teachers to teach children what they really need to know we just might have a shot at raising competitively competent people once again!

JS'n that's all!

Sorry, apparently my fingers were geting tangled while hitting the keyboard! Correction to above:

"For" starters and "Children"

I'm thinking if you sub in those words where appropriate the whole rant and rave might make more sense! ;-)

It was snowing here when the official full moon was full on Saturday.Beautious picture.
The one I saw this morning was frosty white, at 7am, on the way to school with the Flag Co-captain for early practice.
Band competition in Greely, Colorado on Saturday...7 hours drive and an overnight in Cheyenne, Wyoming...scheduling fun here too.

Vicki,
Hey Queen of Busy. Thanks for the brother inquiry. He's recovering well.
I will endeavor to capture Mr.Bear doing something silly soon!

Felicia,
You are right, I didn't know that, but thanks for the info!
Serendipity!

Dawg! Y'all are gonna be draggin' by the time you get home from that game. Too bad you won't be there a tad earlier. There's a fairly interesting UF/IFAS research place in Quincy.

Are y'all playing Maclay next month?

Sophie,
Yes it will be a long one! I have to check the schedule on that one!

Aunty,
"Nerd" is a term of endearment my dear. Search this blog for nerd or High-Q and you will see what I mean.
Joke: What do you call a high school nerd ten years after graduation?
Answer: The boss!!

ooooooooooh, I git it. Like that joke too.
