ARTIFACT: Part Two Of A Series

If you remember yesterday's post, you and I were digging a small pond when we stumbled upon a layer of clay embedded with some marine fossils.

I believe I left you hanging just after a small cave-in that covered the fossil flecked clay deposit.

In today's installment, we begin just after I cleaned off the sand from the cave in.

To quote the flipflop prophet, "Here's where it gets bizarre."

Remember, watch the videos in the order in which they appear if you want this to make any sense.

Pretty cool huh?

This is why the pig pen is still half demolished and the tomato starts have not been transplanted.

The final installment is in tomorrow's post, which just happens to be my 2010th post I believe.

Hey FC,

For the love of God get a bucket and the hose. You're killing me. This better not be one of your elaborate April fool videos. I am so fortunate that I don't have that clay to deal with,of course I do have the coquina which is cool. And the oyster shells. That is what you get when you live on a barrier island. Thanks for sharing and I am just yanking your chain about the bucket. I am sure you will get plenty of suggestions on how you "should" have done things, if you're like me they start with the wife.

I agree with Billy . . . hurry up. I am dying with curiosity. I also thought that you should get out the hose. And as mentioned above, today is March 31st; tomorrow April 1st; I also hope that it's not an April Fools joke. I so want it to be some amazing discovery.

I was thnking fossilized alligator head or turtle, but the weird ledge underneath and the groove across the top is making me re-think.

April Fools or not, this is fun!

I like being in your class!
And I was thinking the same as Sayre at first.

Cool. And you have more patience than I do, lol !

I'm on the edge of my seat wondering what this could be. And of course the fact that tomorrow is April 1st has me wondering too...

I can't wait to see what it is, and if this really is an April Fool then I think you may have out done yourself with the set-up! ;-)

Hey I forgot to say congrats on the number of posts, I'm at a mere 324 so far!

At first I thought "Great! Now he has his own round rocks too!" I see that it's not that, but what is it? Could it be something left behind by the drilling company when they struck oil there a couple of years ago?

I can't wait to hear the rest of the story!!!

Sweetie, get a gorilla pod. It's twisty, tripod thing indispensable for the solo photographer.

I am on pins and needles and can't wait to see what it is!

Did you learn your archeaology skills in the park service? Please tell your family to get you a tripod for Father's Day. Unless of course, you need all those pauses to create the world's best April Fool's joke?

It looks like a fossilized ham - just in time for Easter dinner.....

Billy,
I am like you.
LOL!

Debbie,
What is this April Fools of which you speak?
I have never heard of that.
Is it a religous holiday?

Sayre,
It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
I have always wanted to say that.

3Collie,
Well, great minds do think alike.

Heff,
I considered taking the Glock 17 and blasting the clay away, but that might scare some of my readers.

SandMomma,
Why yes, it is a new month. I believe the saying is April showers bring May flowers ... nothing about fools.

Mike,
Thanks. I will check you out.

Dave,
Just click on the publish button.

Pablo,
Well, could be, except that was in the front of the property and this is more towards the rear. It IS about 100 feet from the meteor crater though.

Deb,
You sound like Paul Harvey.
:)

Ivy,
I hear ya. I do have a tripod, just was too in to this to run get it.

Lisa,
Doesn't that hurt?

Cathy S,
I'm going to have to Google this April Fool Holy Day and see what the buzz is about.

Suze,
There's no shortage of ham here at PF, that's for sure.

Ericka,
So there's this weird election going on ... a bucket vs a hose?

Patio,
The horror!
Fossilized ... humph!
