That is one thing that I am really looking forward too and that is the hummingbirds coming back! I just told the hubby this weekend that I better get out the feeders soon ;)
I have a feeder out, but no hummers. I'll keep trying. My hummer plants are very immature so they probably won't be much help this year. Your video is fantastic!
Nice video! I'm making a quart of hummingbird juice everyday now. Just a month ago it was 2 cups every 2 days or so. We're still in early stages of spring, so not a lot of the natural nectar around. What kind of hummer is that, FC? Ruby-throated?
Ruby-throated is all he has in FL, Robin A. (I love to jump in and answer FC's bird questions for him). East of the Mississippi, ruby-throateds rule over all. Maybe a few wandering rufous in fall and winter, but we're a monoculture over East.

And yes, FC, that is a vastly improved hummingbird feeder. But the Hummingbird Police understand that you now feed nothing but clear solution.
One more tip for my dear friend Robin--try making 1:1 sugar syrup concentrate and storing that in a small jar in the fridge instead of big containers of nectar. Add 1 part concentrate to three parts water in your feeder. Solves a lot of storage and sloppage problems.

Okay, I actually knew the bird ID answer this time, but I still love it when Zick flits in and shares her bird knowledge.
I actually saw my first swallow tail kite on that trip to St. Joe in March. Since then it's an almost daily experience.
