Metamorphosis Part Deux

(Not to insult your intelligence, but the pics go top left, bottom left, top right, ...you guessed it...bottom right.)
If you are a regular visitor, you know that I have been remodeling just a bit. A few weeks ago, I posted the metamorphosis of Emma's room. Today, it's Jr.'s (we don't call him that by the way) room.
His room was originally our "dining room", but we are not frequent entertainers and we eat in our roomy kitchen, so this space became an everything room. It had my weight machine, a computer desk, and a sewing machine residing in it. It was also connected to the cozy (small) living room by a strange T-shaped opening.
In our plan to add a bedroom without adding on, we asked Jr. if he would like this room for a bedroom. That was cool with him, so I began work...which I have often posted about.
The first pic shows the T as yet untouched. Sorry about the cardboard box...we had just joined the ranks of dishwasher owners.
Second pic shows the framing I installed for the drywall to come.
The third pic is my drywall attempt. This has since been panelled over with pretty knotty pine tongue and groove boards. That panelling is not shown in the final photo...I could not squeeze the room into one shot.
The final shot is knucklehead in his new room. He picked out the wall color and the bed. Cool bed, it makes such smart use of floor space.
Besides the drawers you see, there is also a cabinet door at the foot of the bed. This opens into a large, cozy storage area not taken up by the drawers. On top of this, lies a brand new $300 Serta mattress.
I'll give you 3 guesses as to where he likes to sleep.

delta?
I must confess that I like the pale blue color the room used to be. Jr. seems pleased with his new room, and that's as it should be.
I like the dark blue myself. I'm guessing Jr.'s favorite sleeping place is not the new mattress!
I love the color, but I have lots of stong colors in my house. In fact, Nerd Boy's room color is very similar to Jrs.
Good job on the remodeling...do you have some time next month to take down a wall in our house? I'd make you some fish tacos.
The room looks great. I love Jr's choice for color. Really rich.
I'll guess that he likes to fall asleep on the couch in the living room.
FC-Thinking of my three sons (insert foot tapping here) the first thing I noticed was the escape, I mean French doors to Jrs room. This will afford him the luxury of walking out/in and not climbing out/in at late hours for secret meetings. I'm sure you've thought of that and the alarms will be installed soon? However one of my fondest memories was watching number one son try to climb back in the window he so carefully climbed out of that I promptly locked and waited for his return.
Really-nice job. And he does look very pleased with his new surrounds.
I think rexroth is wrong. He looks more like a submarine guy to me. I'm guessing he's in storage.
Pablo,
The triangle (Delta) is the symbol for " a change in". Did you take chem?
Deb,
You should see the color Kate picked out for her room...shocking. Another post to come.
Lightnin,
Thanks for the sneaky parent tips...keep em coming.
DPR,
When it comes to kids, I'm the fortunate one.
Minorca was populated by Greeks, Italians, and Spaniards when my ancestors were shipped over here...mostly Spanish speakers at that time.
Vicki,
YOU GOT IT. He has slept atop the mattress some, but has taken to opening the cabinet door and sleeping under the bed in the storage area.
PS: Here's an article about my uncle, who has a new book out (there's also a great picture of a blue heron on this page.) http://www.newsreview.com/issues/chico/2002-12-19/backbeat.asp
Heh!
If I can't brag about my relatives on my friends' blog pages, where can I boast?
Oh, shoot, I commented on the wrong post. This should have been on your Thank you Teddy post...I'm so sorry.
Hick,
