I suppose the difference in the intelligence of pigs and other animals like dogs is the pig is smart and may seem affectionate, but they are always looking out for themselves. When I compare them to my dogs, the difference is clear. I know my dogs would not eat me if I suddenly fell unconscious in their presence. I have no doubt my pigs would...(makes it easier for me to enjoy a plate of ribs) Posted by Hello

One of our own dogs is so intent on cleaning and mothering that she ripped a dead piece of skin off my wife's foot, and ate it. (it was quite painful) Now she jokes that if she passes out and the dog cannot wake her she might get eaten.

I can tell you from professional (forensics) experience, however, that if you happen to - uh - pass away, your dog will take a bite here and there without the slightest hesitation.

Reading your archives - love the pig story. Too true mine were always cute when then were little but the bigger they got you could just see that they were only thinking of were the next meal was coming from. Hence I never had a problem dressing them out.
