Tis The Season

Give me strength...(chew, chew)...

Well, maybe just one more...(chew, chew)...

Tis the season of treats. Wonderful treats delivered by good-hearted people. (Don't stop by the way)

Some of them are easy to resist,....but the home made chocolate wonders are my downfall.

My best plan has been to open the good ones in the presence of my family, thus insuring that I won't eat the whole gift box. It works pretty well and they think I'm being generous.

I have to stop writing now and clean the fudge off the keyboards before they wake up....

Yes, tis the season. Each morning when I get to work, I find someone has left a tasty treat for me on my desk. You feel obliged, then, to eat it.

It is our moral obligation.

...I'm confused. Sometimes you mention work, but I swear I thought you said something about being retired in one of your comments or posts?

Deconfusion required.

Nope, not retired. I may have looked forward to the day when I do retire, but I "work" for a living.

Also, there is a maker of expensive candy here in KC who -- I kid you not -- prepares some of his candies wrapped in gold leaf. (Apparently the stuff is edible.) I wonder if Cristo gave him the idea.

I read in National Geo once about people in India taking silver... solid silver as a medicine. I suppose nonreactive gold would go right through ya'.

I'm sure Cristo uses gold leaf or pink plastic sheets for his confections.

Why, oh why did I stop by here? I think I've ruined my perpetual diet just by looking at those yummy creations.

My post of today was supposed to be about Christmas goodies, but my laptop went kapooey and now I have to rewrite the durn thing on Nerd Boy's computer and the original was brilliant and I hate having to rewrite things and it's all Pablo's fault for suggesting pre-written posts and I think I'll go have some fudge...

Gee thanks, FC...I enjoyed visiting.

Hick,
You should see the pound cake "student who's mom makes the best poundcake in the world" brought me today.

DPR,
LOL! (during an exam I might add)
Brilliant idea! Duct tape has so many good uses.

As long as Cristo doesn't cover himself in chocolate, we're all okay. But if he starts to get lonely and fret that he's just a hack artist, he might resort to such an act, and at Christmas time no less. Eewwww.

RD,
...hmmm, well you know it is not uncommon to find a nut covered in chocolate.
