When It Rains...

It's raining tonight, heavy enough to shut down the Directv satellite dish and quiet the house. For that I am grateful.

This week promises to be a doozy, with another nerd team tournament tomorrow, final exams to write, and surgery on my Katie's nose. As luck would have it, the bone break during the basketball game was not as simple as we thought. A deviated septum which must be de-deviated. Repairs must be completed before the bones heal on their own, so Thursday is the day.

I may be absent from the blogosphere ...at least in usual verbose form until later Thursday...post-op.

The rain has stopped.

Ditto on what Lightnin said! Well, it's like they say Baseball is a non-cotact sport, Basketball is a contact sport, football is a collision sport. I had my nose broken playing Basketball too, but was lucky enough not to need surgery.

I hope she doesn't have two black eyes (as a result of the surgery) for the holidays.

Good luck to Katie. My niece had this surgery about six weeks ago, after she had been hit in the face by a softball. She had a very bad break, but the surgery went very well. It was tough for about the first 3 or 4 days after, especially with all the packing in the nose, and her desire to breathe or need to sneeze occasionally. But it all worked out just fine.
So give Katie our best wishes, and you and Mrs FC take care.

Busy time of year and especially busy when someone is down for the count. My prayers and good wishes are with you.

I tried to comment yesterday, but I guess Blogger decided otherwise (I see it worked too well for Pablo for a change!) Anyway, just wanted to sent my best wishes for speedy healing for Katie!

Thank you all. My brain isn't really on blogging until this is over, but I truly appreciate the kind sentiments.
Take care.
