That's my ten...I'd like to invite Laura at Vitaminsea to show off her birds ...I would invite Thingfish23 at The Taming Of The Band-Aide, but Wayne's got him so riled up over internet piracy ...I'm not sure he's in a bird mood. Maybe later.

Now this was a meme with a interesting twist! I don't know if I have 10 different bird shots, but I'll see what I can do, it sounds fun!
That hummingbird shot was awesome, ditto the Bittern with the "catch of the day".

I really get a kick out of barn owl photos...they have a lot of expression in that stare (or is it a glare?) that they'll give you when you turn the lenses on them.

Laura,
I thought this was better than the usual meme, that's why I passed it on, that and your heron shot, etc. Don't worry about it if life is too busy...I know what that's like!

Re: wayne and thingfish - it all started out innocently enough! of course get the two bros together and they feed off each other. No matter - you know we're out to save the world.

I'm really impressed by your bird photos, so much so that after the bums and bev I'm increasingly intimidated.

I like a lot the concentration on water birds.

FC-- What fantastic photos of beautiful birds. You've been photographing wildlife for a long time. That's so cool.

The real meme (the one we changed just a bit) does not include photos. It was started by John of a DC Birding Blog and originally just asked to list what you think are the ten most beautiful birds. We used photos of the ten beautiful birds of our backyard. It's not necessary to post photos. Of course, we think photos enhance the experience.

oo-ooh! Finally, I get a moment to relax and reciprocate for all the visits and kind words at my place- and it's as though you were waiting for me! These are beautiful photos, FC. Just grand. Those Anhingas are such odd ducks...
And the green herons are at the top of my list. I am waiting for my first hummer of the season. The feeder is up and this first week of May is always it...this meme is right up there with the watershed meme.
Your place is a pleasure to behold, per usual. Thanks!

Wayne,
Yes, it's quite a firestorm you've lit! Glad you liked the water birds, I am by nature aquatic, so most of my stuff revolves around critters.

Thingfish,
Yes! Anything with Jeep in it has appeal. Hey, you could do 10 beautiful bugs...

RD,
I like your change, a lot more fun to me! I'm just glad I had digitized those old slides, because my current bird shots are few. Thanks again for the invite on your site.

Vicki,
Good to hear from you. Sounds like you live in a whirlwind of travel and activity. I hope you're getting some Vicki time in the mix of things. Good luck on the Hummer anticipation...my first one was April 4th. First Swallowtail Kite (world's MOST gorgeous bird) yesterday!

I wouldn't complain about none of those bird photos...they're great.
I'm using digital and I just finally shot a cat moving for the first time without a blurred picture, this week...because I finally took my camera off auto mode.

I love that little hummer.

Abandoned,
Thanks...I plan to be digital this summer.

GREAT shots! Those are just lovely.

My daughter christened our German Shepherd Dog's rear-end "The One-Eyed Barn Owl".

Sense of humor, that one.
