Heh. Our trees should be so savvy. They're still in the temperate, don't worry be happy, mindset. They'll learn.

This looks like a hostage situation to me.

I blame the militant tree huggers union.

The large branch (pun intended)of your trees tribe that live around here and call themselves Magnolia virginianna (probably because we are in Virginia)and are a lot more peacefull most likely because they are quite numerous and so very beautiful.

Back when I was little we used to play "Combat" - as in the old TV show - and we made hand-grenades out of pine cones stuffed with seeds from the neighbor's magnolia (or with pyracantha berries if we were desperate)...we weren't lucky enough to have trees that grew their own grenades. Florida's awesome ;)

Pablo,
The last time you were that speechless, Deb was walking around in the snow with nothing but a towel on :)

Wayne,
Deforestation started a little earlier (1500's) here in FL so our trees have had more time to adapt.

roger,
it's always the quiet ones...

Laura,
Really?
... the harmless remnants of a July 4th pyrotechnic.

Mrs. S,
Believe it or not, I didn't notice the leaf-footed bug until I uploaded the shot to the computer.

Reb,
This tree is not going to take it anymore.

Mac,
Be careful...

Swampy,
Just one more thing, like having anoles and indigos that makes the sunshine state great!

Hoss,
Survival of the fittest buddy...wait til this gene spreads.
