Thoughts while pulling old field fence from around the garden ...
OUCH!
Where are my gloves?
I hope there's no spiders in them.
What was I thinking with all of these 3/4 inch fence staples?
OUCH!
That's gonna leave a scar.
Dang these old fence posts are full of splinters.
OUCH!
I'll dig that out later.
Gosh, this fence has been here a long time.
So long, the kids were actually still cute when I was putting it up.
OUCH!
Just kidding about the kids.
I should have worn long sleeves, I look like I've been in a cat fight.
(With cats ... ahem!)
OUCH!
Is this razor wire or field fence?
Good thing I gave blood yesterday ...
OUCH!
... I may need it back!

hhhmmmm. a provocative photo. is fc cutting his own fence? whose hand is that anyway? is this the aforementioned missimg photo?
roger,
c'est moi.
Get yourself a farm jack and you won't ever have to dig out a post again. Very useful for getting out those eight foot long eight inch thick corner posts that have been settling in for twenty years.
Fencing my garden is one of my projects for this winter. Between the rabbits, squirrels, and coons they have put a serious crimp in my choice of viable selections.
A pair of fencing pliers and a good hammer helps a lot for getting those old fence staples out.
.....Alan.
Alan,
Thanks. That's good advice. What I really need is a new 20 foot tall truly deerproof fence :)
Heh, this one made me laugh cause I was giving blood today myself. I just spent the better part of the day working on laying out a boardwalk in the swamp. Giant blackberry canes, greenbrier with wicked thorns, and devil's walking stick stuck me and ripped at me while grapevine, supplejack, trumpet creeper, and honeysuckle grabbed my ankles - or my head - and tried to stop me.
Swampy,
Those plants obviously don't want that boardwalk to succeed.
What are they hiding?
Hmmmmmmmm.
i think i saw this post before it had any text. a fence hammer has a single spike opposite the head, used to pull fence staples.

i post the pics and then edit, save as draft, write text, post.
