i do love charleston. had never been to the south before i moved there, and i carried california baggage -- thought it would be awful, but it was really wonderful. our son was born there -- 6 weeks before the baby with the chocolate lab, whose dad raised shrimp at an aquaculture farm.
i swear, these could be photos of son's first girlfriend, right down to the baby quilt!

those are really great baby and dog pics! they remind me of our friends' baby in charleston, circa early 1988, when they had a chocolate lab.

Don't you love Charleston? Growing up in St. Augustine, and then living in Savannah makes Charleston extremely comfortable to me.
