Woof

The dogwoods are emerging. They have been up to their frisky forplay for a week around my place.
The blossoms with all their potential for plant pollinatuituous sexual reproduction are slowly exposing themselves and enticing the bees to come and play.
They're a little green at it right now, but they'll get the hang of it.
Y'all have a frisky day!

No sign of life in Missouri dogwoods right now, but I expect it will be soon.

I'll be as frisky as possible today :)

The dogwoods are blooming and I'm not there to see it!! #@#@ I planted a grove of them around our driveway and along the front yard on our property in North Fla, sure would be nice to see them now.
What about the Redbuds? are they in bloom also?

Your very last post that ended with a comment about Jeb Bush on the FCAT had me nodding in total agreement. Britt came home all stressed out over the preparation for the science FCAT, which she'll take next week. She's afraid she won't be able to pass the test, says she can't remember a thing. The stress this test puts on some of the kids is enormous!

Pretty pretty picture! Nothing blossoming around here yet except another snowflake or two -

Oh, I'm so jealous! Our dogwoods aren't quite ready to burst out yet. I might have seen one tree with a flower or two. The buds are bulging, though, so it won't be long. Super pic!

Mama's are starting to bloom. L took a pic of it last year that I'll have to post. It features all the best things about spring in FL...BEAUTIFUL blue sky and white blooms. I love spring here. When I make a lot of money teaching and retire, I'm going to have a spring house in FL and a fall house in GA. Ahhhhh...a girl can dream!

The dogwoods and azaleas are in full bloom right now. You ought to see Florida 13 around Switzerland...it is so beautiful right now.

Pablo,
Pictures when they do.

POP,
Good, it's contagious!

Laura,
I watched my students stressing over the math yesterday. I felt so sorry for them.
Best of luck to Britt on the FCAT!
Good to hear from you again!

Weary,
It'll be done here and you will be basking in your spring blooms.

Sophie,
I'm seeing dogwoods everywhere now as they unfold. What a tree!

Mel,
Yes, ...when we both make a lot of money teaching and pigs fly, that will be the day!

HT,
I know that area well. I used to own a piece of land off Joe Ashton road.

Kathy A,
They seem to float.

We have relatives of the dogwood around here, but not the real, big flower. I remember them blooming in North Carolina in late April, when we would be in Wilkesboro for MerleFest. But, as usual, that's another post...

We have a saying around here (and unfortunately it's always true) that spring won't come until it snows on the dogwoods (flowers, that is). We got dumped on last night with snow and there is no sign of the lovely dogwoods even starting to stick their blossoms out. I'm envious. Those are lovely.

"Foreplay"? "Exposing themselves"? You've got some pretty racy plants down there, FC. Must be the climate.

Pretty, very, very pretty...induces great envy here in the still frozen north, where the only thing we can grow is icicles.

No dogwoods blooming here (NW Georgia, NE Alabama). I love it when they bloom. Some of the hillsides that look so desolate with their leafless trees will show scores of little white clouds of dogwood blooms for a short time.

We saw tiny dogwoods, almost like ground cover, when we visited Alaska in late May/early June of 2005. The blooms looked just like "real" dogwoods.

Deb,
Merlefest?

Hick,
I didn't know Dogwoods would grow out there. Snow envy.

Ol'Lurker,
It's the sensuous subtropics. Brings out your wild side ... even if you're a wildflower already.
:)

ThreeCollie,
But they are some mighty fine icicles.

Mark,
They are spectacular up there in N. GA. I get to spend time around Blue Ridge every once in a while and I'm always amazed at the abundance of them.

The Kentucky dogwoods are still asleep, and don't usually bloom here until the second week of April.
