Ladies and Gentlemen, Put Your Sunglasses On ... drumroll please ...

Is this bright enough for you?

It's growing on me.

The girls love it.

Jr. has not expressed an opinion.

The dogs are afraid to come inside for a snack ... I thought they were color blind, but I guess this color is ... um, powerful enough to register in their doggy brains.

Tropicana keeps calling, ... something about wanting to film a commercial in our kitchen.

The color may be brighter, but the food in this kitchen is still very good.

This is chicken and rice, bread, salad, and some pineapple to cleanse the palette.

I tried to get the smart and interesting people I live with to pose at the table wearing sunglasses, but they were too hungry, impatient, and grouchy.
Can't really blame them. That was the first home cooked meal in four days due to the kitchen painting and they are just out of the camera's view drooling and telling me to hurry up.

It looks great, Fc. I'm glad the family likes it, too.

What a difference it makes to have everything put back in its place.

Bon Apetit.

Thing,
Sounds like you made it home okay. It was good to meet you two.

Wow! It looks great. My brother has similar colors in his house. Looks really good with the cabinets.

Well! Did y'all ever think outside the box with this color! It's daring, but it looks great! I'll have to bring Britt over to the laptop so she can see it in action.

I can't help thinking some cobalt blue accessories would look great against the backdrop.
(You'll have to forgive me, but as soon as I see a pic like this, my mind immediately begins decorating it. Bad habit, I know).

What color did you paint the laundry room?

Congrats on reaching the finish line. ;)

I come back from the outermost house to discover Beefcake with 409 and brilliant orange paint. I like it. White is blase, color is good, looks like sunflowers. I think by Friday you should be back with recipes, right?

I'm thinking something in tomato red would go well with the walls...

Wow....I am thinking that you can cut down on your coffee budget now.
All kidding aside I like it...nice and bright...

Sharon,
Our house is a plain brown wrapper on the outside with a rainbow inside!

Laura,
I'm still adjusting. I think I like it in natural light best.
The laundry room is open to the kitchen so I just continued the orange in there.
Here, the finish line just moves to a new room... sigh.

Vicki,
Beefcake? No, that's just chicken and rice on the table :)
Very nice to have you dropping in again, I need to go Outside again.

ThreeCollie,
Oh yeah, it'll definitely wake ya up!

JR's and intelligent young man!

I actually think it looks nice, and it kinda brings out the color of the cabinets! I look forward to cooking in there soon! It is easily washable, isn't it! ;-)

I like it too! I've seen a couple of rooms where folks decide to experiment with bright colors - that didn't work. This most certainly does. Good job!

I like it. It looks very Florida to me.

I love that warm pumpkin color. Beautiful.

You met ThingFish? And where oh where is the documentation of this? No pics together? Dang.

All in good time, Rurality. Patience. Mr Fc took some, and the Wife took some as well. I reviewed ours last night, and will post them over at the Band-Aid in a bit. As for Fc, maybe he didn't want anyone to see us together, as his snake-handling masculinity fairly turns me sheepish-looking in comparison. ;)

BTW - I saw the infamous extension ladder in person. It's much scarier in real time.

Fc, I wish we had more time. I'll let you know next time we'll be around and maybe we can do a canoe trip (?) - surely by that time we'll have our own canoe. The Wife is hooked, even after that dastardly Suwannee trip.

That's PURDY! We have almost the same color in our dining room. And real dishes, wow. My son rarely ever sees those at our house.

So now I'm waiting to see how the missus works some blue into the decor! :)

Did the color chip from the paint store have a fancy name for that color?

I'm thinking of doing the new house in rich warm desert tones.

wow FC now im awake. looks very good. That guy from HGTV called and wants to do a "color splash" episode at your house next month.

Yours in the Bond.

Great color, FC. We had some friends in Santa Cruz who painted their kitchen this color and it always looked very warm and inviting. It is a good choice, and you did a fantastic job.

How cool that you met thingfish. When are you going to post the pics?

I think that's the same color we painted the boys hot wheel playroom. I think it was volcanic blast or something to that effect.

MinorcanMeteorolgist said...

WOW! I didn't take your warning, and I should have! That's bright. We had our kitchen painted a bright yellow for a long time till we started this whole "selling the house" scheme, which forced us to paint it a neutral beige, ugh. I like it!

R.Powers said...

ThunderD,
This whole house is wash and wear!

Laurao,
Thanks for the reassurance. I only have to wear SPF 15 sunscreen in the kitchen.

Doug,
That's what the division of tourism guy said. He wants to run tours ...

Debbie,
Bless you for using the word pumpkin and not tangerine :)

Rurality,
YES! I haven't posted about it, because I did not want the internet to know his house was empty. He's home now, so a post is forthcoming. He and his wife are waaaay nice folks.

Thingfish,
It was great to meet you two, next time bring the little flea.
Thank you for respecting the ladder :)
I may get the visit post up tomorrow now that I'm sure you're home.

Mel,
Mrs.FC brought those dishes home from the pfunpronouncable dish store the day the paint job ended.

Deb,
It was Walmart paint and the name is Monarch. Pretty exciting, you have a new house to paint.

Scott,
Color explosion might be more apropo ...

Robin,
Thanks. Our house now has yellow, red, orange, blue, and purple rooms.
I kid you not.
Thingfish post tomorrow!

RCW,
Volcanic blast! LOL!

HTEEN,
Neutral sells, which is why we will never sell our house.

WOW!!! verry nice! a fine looking and quite inviting food place. nice workmanship.

R.Powers said...

roger,
thanks.
WOW would have been a good name for this shade of color :)

That's the color of one of our bathrooms (the one off our bedroom)! It emits a somewhat strange orange glow into the room when the sun shines in it, but I like it! Ours has white curtains and green plants (well, most plants tend to be green...) and I really like it. Nice kitchen color.

Anonymous said...

I am coming in late, but my first thought was where is the blue? You have to paint at least one room green and white now though.

R.Powers said...

Peggy,
Thanks! I know about glows. My Emma has a purple bedroom that emits the most soothing purple glow out of her windows.

Cathy S,
Please, no more painting!
Won't a green Bulls T-shirt do?
