UPDATE UPDATE: Yowza! Where did the space alien soundtrack come from on my video montage??
Any tips from you moviemaker experts?
You might just want to watch it with the sound off ...
Here's a few scenes from this morning.
I mushed a bunch of video clips together using Windows Movie Maker for the first time.
Run time is about 2:33 ... a bit longer than what I usually do, so if you have dialup like me, you might want to go mow the lawn, do the laundry, play with your dog, etc., while it loads.

Oh! Oh! BIG WEATHER! I'm loving this. The noise- is that all from wind and water and what not? It almost sounds like an echo sonogram of the storm. I'm happy for your pond- but seriously, is the dock just a lot of optimism on your part or can we hope to see Bear doing a triple gainer in the near future?
Keep posting...
No, I think my nimrodiness regarding moviemaker is showing. I have no clue where that sound came from.
I thought the sound was the wind and storminess. When you listen to the video without the montage, as it came off your camera, do you hear it? I love a good video sound mystery.
Cute pair of happy frogs in the post below.
heh heh...a day off from school and a fella goes and stomps in puddles...ain't it grand? them frogs jes' wanna makes sure yore reborn pond is populated.
Wow.....finally! The skies are getting a bit brighter, the power is back on and I'm sitting in my office with the nicest breeze blowing!
The frogs in the wetlands behind my house are very loud. I thought they were happy due to the rain. Now I'm wondering!
How happy Bear is! What a great dog.
Patti
Robin,
Pre-assembly all the video clips have just the wonderful ambient sounds of rain, wind, and amphibians.
Weird.
Aunty,
I'm a puddle stomper from way back.
Patti,
Those sly amphibians.
Glad you have power and a gentle breeze.
I'm expecting wind from a new direction as the storm moves west.
Well, I got the day off from teaching up here just north of Tallahssee, too... Looks about the same up here. If you can still hold on to your umbrella and camera at the same time, it ain't too bad! Good luck, and hang on down there, ol' Fay looks to be heading back to the warm Gulf for a little more juice! Peace-
Chris in Coonbottom...
No idea about the sound but it goes well with the dark and rainy look. Bear looks wonderful loping through the water.
Looks like a wonderful (if a bit blurry) day in Florida. And the space alien sound track is a plus.
(Also, Nimrod was a great hunter. I don't know how the name got equated with goofiness.)
glad to see all is well. still raining down here in stuart. at least the wind is gone. take care and i'll keep checking back!
I dont know, but if I were you I'd go and get my tin foil hat and put it on!
Chris,
We're getting it from the Southwest now as Fay moves by. Be safe!
3C,
Yeah, but I really like the storm sounds. I may have to film tonight too!
Pablo,
I shot a couple of clips of Bear while holding an umbrella, and even though blurry, I liked his fascination with the rain.
You don't get many blurry shots here at PF, so I knew you'd understand.
:)
Idybug,
Hey!
The rain started up again here and is coming down hard again at 8:15 pm.
Hope you're not flooding or anything like that.
Who,
I don't leave home without it!
I couldn't resist turning on my speakers..wow, that really does sound freaky! Nice to get all that rain, isn't it? And Lake Okeechobee got ALOT so that makes Fay ok in my book!
I've got the exact same soundtrack when I open my back door. That's the sound of ecstatic frogs! It does sound a bit sci-fi though, doesn't it?
Tallahassee has had lots of rain with the occasional impressive gust. Fay just slipped off the coast of Cedar Key, so we'll see what she does tonight!
Bear is such a LAB. He's havin a blast out there, LOL! Stay safe!!
P.s. how's Mrs. FC's leg?
Coolness! I've still got another six months for rain here. Wouldn't worry about the alien sounds as it is probably some weird microphonologically typical audiogramiphication. If the file you uploaded sounded clean, then I'm guessing it's some kind of artifact from the slow upload speed where the frequencies get jarblondified. Unscientific. Unfounded. But I like the vid and the previous pics. Stay safe, Buckwheat.
Swampangel,
I agree, anything that helps the glades is great!
Sayre,
Well, on the original clips, it's clearly wind, rain, and frogs (toads mostly) Something odd happened between here and Youtube.
Laura,
Torn muscles in the calf. She has a long row to hoe in front of her.
Freste,
My thoughts exactly. I wonder about the transformation from original extension to .wmv or whatever it was I had to do.
I guess I will skip the Cecil B. DeMille stuff from now on and just give raw footage.
Heck noooooooo, don't give up the Cecil B Scorcese stuff. Not because of a goofy alien. Clearly people wanna see them and distinct sounds such as a bark, a laugh, a whistle are crystal clear so must have been something crazy with the upload of wind sounds or something. Keep them coming, I tel ya. LOL.
Ever since Fay rebounded for the third time (and now fourth!!), I have been wondering how you and your property and your animals would handle it. Thanks for the keen report.
Freste,
Got another one up right now, only without moviemaker's help.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Hoss,
We're good pal. Thanks for checking on us.
Too funny seeing Bear running around! You could almost hear him saying: "I'm a lucky dog!"
