Graduation Day!

I had more doggy graduation pics, but Blooger or my old computer or somethannnng is jinxing me today, so this one will have to do.

Yesterday was Puppy Obedience Class Graduation at Petsmart. Last week we were challenged to teach our dogs a new trick to show off during the last class.
We worked with Bear on speaking with only a hand signal. He learned this in about 15 minutes and we reinforced it all week so that when graduation night came, he would be ready.

We were all a little nervous, but Bear had no problem speaking at the graduation ceremony.

Bear may have celebrated a bit too much afterwards.

Congratulations to you and Bear and the whole family! Amazing for so young a pup to learn hand signals. Will he be taking speaking engagements now?

Congratulations, Bear and Bear's man! 8-]

It's amazing, isn't it, how quickly they 'get' it'? I taught our furkin several tricks by word and hand signal. SPEAK might not have been a great idea. She used to be such a quiet gal. {*;*}

Way to go Bear!!!

ConGradulations!! So do you recommend that program? I've never had any of our dogs in obedience of any kind (well, except home school);o) but I was thinking about it for Zeke.

Bear sure looks proud! Now it's up to y'all at PFHQ to reinforce what he learned.

Do Feather and Flounder remember what they learned at obedience school... back when they "had to walk 5 miles through rain and floods and gators to get there"?

That must have been some graduation party LOL Did you like the classes? We have a beagle pup who just isn't doing well in our homeschool classes. He's a little on the forgetful side so we have to reteach him stuff - alot. The classes at our Petsmart are a little expensive but would be worth it if they can help the pup pay a little more attention to my commands instead of whatever he smells at the moment.

Even the dogs at your house are top scholars. So was he the valedictorian or salutatorian?

Awww...Bear you are so cute in your grad cap. Remember...the day after is hair of the dog. So what kind of job are you looking for? Toad chaser? Flower sniffer?
Congratulations!

Bear is such a typical graduate! Out of school just minutes and already partying.

Congratulations to everyone!

Thanks all on behalf of Bear!

Mark,
Funny, Bear just brought me an advertisement for sky diving.

3C,
He was definitely the teacher's pet. We're still negotiating speaking rates.

Cinbad,
Just like the rest of my children, eh?

Sophie,
So far he's only used his bark power for good :)

Emory,
Welcome to Pure Florida!

Sharon,
I do. We've had a lot of dogs, but none ever attended school. I learned some neat tricks there.

Susan,
How did you know? Flounder likes to tell about his lessons with Leonardo Dogvinci ... says we spell his name wrong.

Aunty,
True, obedient dogs are fun to be around.
If'n I ever meet the mysterious Annette, I shall ask her for her recipe ... if she is real that is.
:)

SCMOMMA,
This class was a hundred dollars and 8 tuesdays. I think it was a pretty good deal.

Cathy S,
He was always the dog chosen by the instructor to demo some new technique and was clearly the star student.
We're so proud ... sniff.

Melody,
Beetle chaser seems to be a current interest.

Cndymkr/jean,
He's a party animal!

OK, spill. What kind of beetles has he been chasing?

Doug,
Rhino's? Brown, inch and a half, males with a big curved horn.
Guess you got your power back on!
