Thank You!
Another book box came in today and they are very much appreciated! I just wanted to say thanks for the excellent donations.
I have put up a new book donation plea on the sidebar if you have books that need a good home.
Where do the books go?
Some ... mostly hardcovers, go to the media center for their collection.
The wonderful paperbacks I farm out to the teachers for their classroom libraries.
The recent encyclopedia set was snatched up by the remedial reading teacher who teaches next to me.
Thanks again donors!
We promise to use them.

80billion to Iraq, and we have to beg for books in our public schools. What is wrong with this picture?
Having griped about that, I'm going to look around, ask my friends, and see what I can find to send to you all.
So glad you got the comment section fixed! I forgot what I was going to say about the previous posts, but it was all good, of course. ;)
I was going to say that it's amazing how beautiful a natural blemish! And then I was going to say that Stewie defines the difference between eating for fuel and the human gourmand. And I was going to mutter, again, about ants in my Florida bathroom.
(Good deal on the books. I've started trading the kind sisters at St. Vincent's Nearly New Shop, around the corner, used clothing for used books. ;-) )
That reminds me... I never heard back from you about the children's books. The illustration show http://rmichelson.com/Artist_Pages/Childrens/19th-Annual/Childrens-Illustration-Show.html opens the 16th. I was going to hit up a bunch of my friends that are authors or illustrators for some of their books if the elementary school in your district would be interested. Let me know.

There's nothing like a "real" book ... hopefully that won't change in the digital age.
From another teacher at BHS....THANK YOU!
We started a little pile on the dining room table yesterday. Do we just box 'em up and send 'em to the school?
What type. Anything or. I work at the library and alot of donations get tossed. Maybe I can send a few dozen your way. Fiction non-fiction.
(mail them MEDIA rate. It's a fraction the cost.)
Laura,
Good point! We love to get books!
Vicki,
Thanks for your donations and Media shipping tip! You should have seen the teachers claiming books from your box for their classes.
Joey,
Sorry about that! We have enough low readers and an elementary school across the street that even kiddy books are much appreciated.
Robert,
I agree.
Cinbad,
Glad you got some for your class!
3C,
Yes, you can address it to Mr. FC, I've told the receptionist to direct those to me.
Thank you in advance!
Smilin B,
Almost anything is welcome! Pretty conservative community, so if it's explicit/adult stuff, it won't pass muster.
Now see, I read your posts in a feedreader and had no idea you were looking for books. A me a librarian!
I am soliciting all my friends on email to send you books - I will packup some too!
Wren and Stacey,
Bless you!
Thanks for thinking of us!
I assure you that the media center and related classroom environs want exactly NONE of what's in my library. I even have to hide most of it from the Pulguinha.
