Then And Now

Time flies ...

THEN: One of my favorite pictures ever.

NOW: Yes, same boy, and there IS a baby gopher in this shot too, it's just that the boy has become Godzilla-like in the meantime, while a baby gopher is still a tiny thing.

Yesterday, Emma, Junior, Bear, and I went back to Hagen's Cove just to romp with Bear and give him some serious swimming experience.

It was wild, let me tell you, and I have a bunch of new salty pics for you, but I thought you might need a break from pristine waters, shorebirds, horseshoe crabs, snorkeling, fish, insane dogs, and estuarine life abundant.

Tomorrow though ... those cute Bear pics are burning a whole in my megapixelly pocket ... gotta spend 'em!

Today, I'm on a mission to the south. I'll be posting about that too.

Soon come.

I also take "then" and "now" pictures. One of my favorites is of my son and two of his cousins. I took the "then" one when they were ages 8-10 and the "now" one when they were ages 18-20. I had them in the same pose at the same location both times.

Great shots of Junior and the baby gophers. He has the same wonderful, open expression and obvious delight with the world.

Want to host the next Throwdown Challenge? Think you'd be good at it (better than heff) and you can plug the Southern Sisters.

Hope that venture is a big success!

That look on little Junior's face is priceless. What a sweetheart. And what a fine young man he has become.

I have spies everywhere and I know at least one thing you are up to today. Can't wait to hear about it.

To quote Lightnin: "Isn't it wierd how our kids keep getting older, but we don't?" ;-)

See ya tomorrow evening! ;-)

You just made me get teary eyed. I have a son who is no longer a little boy but isn't yet a teen. The pictures of your son reminded me how much more my own son is going to change. It makes me miss that little boy, hence the tears. Or the tears may be due to the fact that he is costing me a fortune in food and new clothes.

That is the BEST picture, I love it :) Of course, the 2nd one is good too, but LOVE the expression in the 1st one :)

I ABSOLUTELY love that photo of Jr as a little boy...and I don't even know him! There's something about his wild-with-the-pleasure-and-excitement-of-discovery expression that just makes me smile too!

It's funny how they just grow up, whether you like it or not.

These pictures are each wonderful in their own right but paired together? Great. He may be larger but he's just as cute and full of life.

Way to rub salt in the wound!

ThunderD,
Still living without mirrors in the house huh. Black Beans for supper.

Jean,
That baby pic gets me misty too. :)

Sharon,
He was one cute little imp! Glad you like the shot.

Kimberlee,
Thanks, I feel the same way about that expression.

Pablo,
I know, what's up with that?

Vicki,
Larger for sure .. larger than me these days.
As it should be.
I sure enjoyed yesterday's visit.
