Green Lynx Eating An Orange

Not shown, but intertwined along this fence with the lantana are several passionfruit vines.
The Gulf Fritillary butterflies have laid lots of eggs there and the vine is loaded with caterpillars happily munching away.
There are other munchers in the fencerow jungle though, like this green lynx spider.
Munch happens.

Ok FC are you trying to stop me from moving into your nreighborhood? Guess I'd better start practising to get over my phobia of spiders, huh?

Cool! Even though I hate spiders. They are still fasinating creatures to look at only!

Lynxes continue to be my favorite group of spiders. There's something about that translucent green that I find very appealing.

Sneaky coloration. Are they the pounce-on-prey type of spider?

Next week's MM is "Science". Yes, I know you hate memes but science be your thang.

Beautiful shot, fc. I've never seen lynx spiders, or maybe I have and not known. A whole new world opens up!

When I saw "lynx" in the title, I was thinking of a wild cat and wondering if green lynx was a rare Florida race.

I used to get these spiders on my car a lot when I parked under certain trees at work. I remember driving down the road with one on my windshield. I finally couldn't take it anymore, seeing him flattened out, trying to hold on. After a mile or so, I had to pull over and get him off the windshield and put him on a nearby bush. And I have arachnaphobia.

you know, i read your title and my brain took a hard left in lewis carrol land and conjured up an image of a green cat sprawled across a mushroom, munching on fruit. *blink* oh. spider. butterfly. right. i guess that does make more sense. it was a really cool looking cat though.

I had visions of a four legged furcreature that had an unfortunate accident with Benjamin Moore "Jungle Midnight" or "Clover Green".

Just stopping by to say good morning. Cool picture! Hope your week at school is going well and you are being MORE ORGANIZED than I am. (Picture me unhappily sifting through piles of papers.)

I didn't really expect an olive-drab feline, even though I hadn't heard of this particular critter. But I was thinking maybe a moth - you know, "lynx," "luna," I'm detecting a pattern here.

Neat photo, too bad about the butterfly.
