Math, Naturally

You remember the geometry ants, right?
Well, they are still at work, but they have company ...

The Gulf Fritillary caterpillars have gotten the math bug (heehee) 2 (heeheehee). They are focusing on subtraction instead of geometry.

Meanwhile, the elephants foot flowers that graced us with so many insect photos a month ago have almost finished their vital addition work for this year.
And while I won't put you through another set of "Gee Whiz! LOOK AT MY BAMBOO PLANTS GROW!" photos, I think it's clear that they have done one heck of a job at cell division this year, reaching new heights thanks to alot of mitosis math.
Yup, we is purty cerebral around here.
Yesterday's trip to Tampa did not result in the first photograph thanks to a busy schedule with Emma and a cold front that washed out the light.
Today is looking beautiful though and I should be meeting a blogger from my blogroll this morning.
I'll let you know how that goes ... unless of course he turns out to be an axe murderer and not a butterfly restoration expert.
That could be a problem.
Have a great Sunday ... GO OUTSIDE!

Mornin' PF! I am not sure what you meant about your bamboo plants except that you have some. They are so prolific that in Sydney/Australia they are considered a noxious weed and must be contained in gardens!

Is a beaut mornin' in Miami Beach and heading off to the beach soon. Yesterday, high tide was about 1:30pm and Biscayne Bay looks a bit flat and not any wind, could be a good snorkeling day!

Throwdown on November 4th!

Are you suggesting that axe-murderer and butterfly-expert are mutually exclusive?

Are you meeting a certain butterfly restoration expert from Chicago? That would be so cool.

I got outside. I raked lotsa leaves and then threw down grass seed before the rain came.

And I mowed.

I stayed inside writing sub plans. I have succumbed to illness. Flu? Could be. It's all over school.

Good to see bloggers uniting. Especially if it's a fellow Floridian blogger. We've got to stick together!

Diva,
I have posted relentlessly about some bamboo transplants that are growing like they are on steroids. It was a reference to those posts which mainly consist of pics and me going, "WOW!"
Snorkeling sounds like an excellent way to get outside.

Troll,
No, I guess they could both be handy skill sets.

Robin,
Yes, and funny but we said the same thing about meeting you!

Pablo,
You just throw it and it grows? Rye?

Mockinbird,
Ahh, yes, but that is probably the last time you really need to for awhile.

Poor Miz S, ... I hope you feel better soon.

Robert,
Well, this guy is from Illinois, but it went real well.

Love that cat shot! I dug up gas pennies this afternoon and made for the refuge. It was a nigh perfect day. Unfortunately, about a gazillion other two-leggers had the same idea. I don't think I've ever seen that many people there at one time. Fisherhumans scared the Avocets AND the rare-in-Flarda Neotropic Cormorant too far out for snaps. But it definitely was a beautimous day. Hope this weather lingers long enough for another visit sooonly.

I didn't get outside much. Kind of a drizzly day here, and I had plenty of indoor chores to do.

I'm glad none of your bugs or plants there do calculus. I was never cerebral enough for that.
