Nice cluster of bladderwort flowers! Bladderworts are a type of carnivorous plant with small bladders clustered along the plant that trap and digest microscopic crustaceans such as Daphnia and Cyclops. So the plant was doing a lot more 'chomping' than the lazy gator this day.

Did you see the story about the Independence police shooting and killing the gator? The concrete one I mean...
Some unsuspecting flower thief might think this guard gator was a rock. Won't they be surprised.
April 2005: "I will educate and editorialize from time to time as I share the nature, culture, and history of Florida's last frontier."
That you have, FC, that you have. Thank you for the journey so far.

Robin,
Gators always wow me. Like dolphins, I never get bored with them.
Prem,
Yup! A great little plant. And a fearsome predator of all things planktonic!
3Collie,
Oh yes. That was pretty humbling.
Lisa,
Yes, but only once.
Anonymous,

That 10x zoom comes in handy, doesn't it?
Vicki,
Totally.
Dani,
