Thingfish, We are a rare item in 21st century Florida. We can't stop the 1000 people a day who move here, but maybe we can show them the real, pre-Disney Florida while we are preserving our own piece of it. I will be a regular visitor to your site. Keep up the goodwork! Hick, finding your site was serendipity. I was clicking Next Blog over and over again, plowing through a universe of boring blogs and then there you were! I really enjoyed your site. I take it you were wagontraining? From your excellent blog I found Rurality. Rurality's links of nature/farmy sites was a godsend. No more blind clicking looking for fellow nature bloggers! Thank you both for stopping by. Take care.
That looks so much like the road where I lived in Apalachicola. At one end of the road the street sign said "Shady Lane"; the sign at the other end said "Shadowlane". Now I'm feeling just a little homesick...
rm, I know what you mean. There are some great canopy roads in that area. Leon county even printed a brochure showing people where they were. Thanks for stopping by.

Your site is wonderful. The pictures are fantastic...the snakes are yukky. I'm like Indiana Jones...I hate snakes.
Thanks for dropping by my site. I will be back. Always nice to meet a fellow Hick. Heh!
