When I went home for Thanksgiving, I made a point to photo the blooming banana trees, since it's possible you may have eaten a ton of 'nanners, but never seen the bloom.

The purplish object at the bottom of the stalk has descended, peeling back layers as it went. Beneath the layers are the banana blossoms. This one has made all the bananas that it's going to make. Now, it's just a matter of hoping they ripen before the first real freezing weather.

Bananas on the edge are always a gamble.

Love your nanner shots. Here's a bit of trivia. Did you know that there is a banana farm...plantation...whatever...in California? Yep! It's by the coast just south of Santa Barbara. They grow all different kinds of bananas there.
