And These Are For Laura

Laura of Vitaminsea (go to her site!) requested some visual reminders that Florida is much more than touristy glitz and cartoon mice.

I have proof ... found it this afternoon on the way to the grocery store.

Yep, that's what I miss about living in N. Fla. horses, cattle, dusty roads like that one.

Yup, I just got a reminder of that today while driving to Ocala and back. I love that hilly farm country between Ocala and Green Cove Springs.
P.S.: I saw the REAL Bellamy Road today.

Oh my gosh...you have those cute little white birds that hang around cows. I saw them in Texas and some have even made it over to Western Ky.
This is my favorite part of every state, its countryside with farmland, forests and animals...where the real people live.

I'm a fan of the white birds too. We had them in central Georgia - cattle egrets?

Catching up ...

Laura,
Understandable.

HTeen,
I like 441 near Ocala.

Sandy,
Very real. Those are cattle egrets. Everytime the cattle move the egrets snatch up the grasshoppers they disturb.

Leslie,
Yup.
They are actually an import and cause some problems for our native herons ... mostly in competition for rookery space.
