Those are beautiful. We have a few that look like that here, but the middle one is really something else. Thanks much for showing us these beauties. Great color still happening there.
These are so pretty! Things are dry, brown, and cracked in Texas. I'm not sure if we have any wildflowers now! I've only been to Florida twice, and it's been about 13 years since I was last there.
HTeen, Find a swampy road and you should find lobelia, swamp sunflower, meadow beauty, etc. Try Joe Aston road or any little road in that area. For drier habitat flowers, head down A1A to Fort Matanzas and walk the dune boardwalk.
Debbie, Your welcome! I like the swamp sunflowers too. I've got them started all over my place. It's a long wait for the blooming season, but they are always worth it.
You beat me to it - I could identify the beautyberries of course, and was pleased to see the nice Ruellia, the wild petunia. They were something I knew nothing about until a year ago. And the swamp sunflowers, of course. I'm glad we had at least some of ours show up.
The partridge pea is also one of my favorites with its warm brown anthers and nice red spot. And yes, that does look like a Gaura. Good job, FC!
Wayne, I left out the ID on the middle top yellow flower because I've forgotten it and haven't looked it up yet. I hesitated about the gaura because the blossoms seemed bigger, bolder than I'm used to seeing.

I still don't know what a sparkleberry bush is...

Likes2mtnbike,
I'll take care of that.
Robin,
The middle one is partridge pea. Cool plant with nectaries to keep guardian ants patrolling it's stems and leaves.

Thank you for these flowers, I thought I remembered pretty fall blooms!
Lass,
We are green, but still pretty dry. You have me beat, I was only in Texas once as a teenager.
Sharon,
Hey you're welcome. Fall is prime wildflower time here.
I don't know of any good wildflower spots in St. Johns County. Do you? If so I want to know about them!
Very pretty - thank you!
Not sure what the others are; I know the partridge pea, and tickseed, and is that beautyberry?
