Looks like a piece of spaltered wood. Is it the back of a spoon or the bottom of a bowl?

.....Alan.

A bird feeder with a map of the Bahamas on it.

Very interesting! Most native Floridians can identify them on the spot. It is used to keep snakes from striking at your legs when out hiking in the woods. Developers order them on a daily basis for their site purveyors. FC is a main supplier and is happy to send them the ones that crack easily.

I don't know exactly what it is but it looks to be made of cypress. (from the woman whose father cut cypress kness for swanky home decor in the '50's.)

Alan,
You're good dude.

Vicki,
Yes, if you squint, you can see the tiny cruise ship passengers vomiting from norovirus.

Zanne!
Hey welcome back. It does look cypressy, but it's spalted maple.

Laura,
Actually, we here at "Please Stop Californicating Florida" have a new product just for those folks. They're snakeproof boots that aren't and even contain a diamondback rattlesnake sex pheromone to attract rattlers. We are giving them away free to encourage their use.

Nature is so awesome, and the good we can do with and for it, is icing on the cake!
