There's Jr. showing his BLUE RIBBON pig. Tomorrow is the livestock auction so he'll be richer tomorrow than he is today. He just doesn't know how much richer yet.
The collage is just a mishmash of random fair scenes. I think identical scenes could be found across the country in a zillion little livestock fairs that take place each year.
I'll leave you with the classic Suwannee fair scene. This giant holly tree at the front of the fair grounds is a kid magnet. I like the way she cradles these kids.
There's a very good chance she cradled their grandparents before them.

No one may show their animal unless they are wearing the official dress of either the FFA or the 4H organizations. It's a sea of blue (FFA) and green (4H) jackets.

I like your observation about the tree possibly playing host to preceeding generations.
Such wholesome pictures of a fine young man and one fine pig. I lived in town and never experienced the challenge of raising livestock. I've often wondered if parting with an animal after the months of care is bit tough for a youngster.

Can your boy tie his own tie? Mine can't though I've spent plenty of time teaching them. Now they have these zipper ties. Abomination!

I can't tie a tie.
When I was little, I wore clipons.
In ROTC I wore clipons.
In law enforcement, you had to wear a clipon so the badguys did not use your tie like a garotte.
Now I don't wear them except about twice a year and my wife ties it for me then.
It's a 17th century anachronism.
Fairs are the best. They teacj kids so much and are fun at the same time. Congrats to Junior

Great collage! I recognize that building. I comment on it just aout every time we drive past it. Not often enough, more's the pity.
BTW, I keep meaning to ask.. is that locomotive (I think that's what it was) still at the crossroads there at Otter Creek?

She WOULD love it. The goats looked healthier this year. Last year the seemed so skinny. There's a new crop of kids in that tree every year!

It stands empty much of the year, but it sure is full of life now.
That locomotive is a little south of Otter Creek at just before the blinking light at Gulf Hammock on the west side of the road. If you go past the Circle K, you missed it.
Congrats to Jr. on the blue ribbon. I was in the non-livestock part of 4H when I was growing up, but the County Fair was always exciting.

I still prey on them, but I adore them too. Yesterday was the goodbye day and the pig pen is sadly silent.
