SNOW DAY!!!

Lunch break.

Check email.

"All county schools will be closed Friday, August 22, 2008."

Yes!

Fay's westward track is "due FC" mostly so I am one happy camper.

If there's no power interruptions, Fay will be the topic of tomorrow's posts.
Since out here we have power interruptions on even regular thunderstorms ... the electricity thang could be problematic.
I will be shootin' pixels though.

Expecting some rain, eh? As I'm sure you already know, we up here in Georgia had hoped for some of that, too. But Fay is fickle.

Ah a snow day made of rain. Good luck with it, and be safe.

We got a little yesterday, but nothing to write home about. Here's hoping we all get some much needed rain... but not as much as S FL got. We'll be praying your power stays on, as well. Ours used to go out with the least provocation. Eventually, enough lines were knocked down and replaced that we're finally seeing some improvement. Now, it's more likely to flicker. When it does go out, it comes back on quicker. Then again, it hasn't been tested by a really good storm... yet.

Right now, Fay is about as close to central Georgia as she is to PFHQ. She doesn't seem interested in turning left like she's supposed to. M-a-y-b-e she will bring her rainy charms on up north.

We'll know in a few hours. :)

Fay? You can have her. She's been hanging around my house for three days and she's starting to stink!

Seriously, hope she just gives you some much needed rain and nothing more.

The forecaster who does the discussion of Fay at the Hurricane Center sounded like he predicts some westward movement only because the models all seem to think it will happen, although he has seen no sign yet.

My kids are mad because Fay is due here over the weekend so they won't get a day off LOL Looks like all of us are going to get some rain from this one. And you'll have a pond again instead of that mud bog!

i hope you get your pond back. i can't believe this thing is still moving around. It dumped too much rain in Port St. Lucie and Ft. Pierce lots of damaged flood filled homes. Luckily i only got the outside bands of that. Canal is back down to where it used to be. whew! here's hoping everyone gets a Snow day!

Dani said...

Keeping my fingers crossed that you get some water in that pond. Do you still have the rescued fish in your outdoor tanks?

Smilin-buddha said...

Stay safe. It sprouted some tornadoes down south. Loved the rain. Hated cramming everything inside the house.

I'm happy that you will get some rain from Fay after all.
We've had too much here...The campus is flooded, and we haven't had class for three days.
Enjoy!

Your pond looks like mine! We're seeing a little rain now and some wind, but I expect the university to still be open tomorrow. Fun times!

Stay safe. (I'd miss your puns if you were gone for a while.)

I hope your pond fills. It will warm my heart (as you know).

We had a day off, but no storm, not even a drop of rain. Hope you get more than we did. Enjoy your day. How is Mrs. FC? Pining away for some time in the EOC?

Sharon said...

Hope everything is ok with you all. Hasn't been too bad here yet! :)

Maybe this is just what your pond needs!

I enjoy when the kids have a snow day off from school. I never get the day off from work, but I usually end up taking a vacation day.

Suh-weet! I'll be checking back tomorrow evening to see how wet you are.

Conditions here at almost 9:00 pm are windy, rainy, but not continuous rain, and of course a low grey ceiling.

Mark,
Sorry her forecast track seems to be skirting much of GA.

Robin,
Clear snow.

Sophie,
They just cleared the power right of way into PFHQ so that may prevent a serious on site outage.
Stay safe!

Susan,
Looks like I get this one!

Dee,
I went and looked at your pictures and yes, I can believe you are tired of her!!
Hang in there.

SCMomma,
Man that does stink! Poor kids. Timing is everything.

JoJO,
Glad you came through okay.

Dani,
I do. Plus the baby turtles.
Just waiting to be reponded.

Smilin B,
That crammin part is a drag. I just finished securing some porch furniture.

HT,
I enjoyed your live blogging of Fay.

Emily,
Sort of a concave pasture ain't it?
:)
Hope yours fills.

Pablo,
I know you have a soft spot for fluctuating fields of fluid.
At least yours was a real lake all summer long.

Cathy S,
Mrs. FC has torn muscles in her calf, not a torn Achilles like we feared. 3 weeks in a inflatable boot cuff sort of thing and then rehab.
She's managing.

Sharon,
That's good. I think the beaches got pounded tho.

Deb,
Hoping for a deluge.

Oh boy, i'm a little nervous about her passing through Gainesville. They're reporting winds of 31 mph! In any event, this ought to fill up your pond, for sure!

I do hope your Mom and Dad are ok. I've been watching the Weather channel and St. Augustine has been on the news several times, so I was wondering about them... hope all is ok.

Y'all stay dry!

Miz S,
Definitely Suuuwweeeeet!
It's raining pretty hard right now.

Laura,
Mom and Dad are fine in their Fortress.
Thanks for asking!
I hope your other place up here fairs well.

It's hard to comprehend this, but we are STILL getting bands down here in So Fla.! Craziest damn thing I ever saw!

May Fay bring you LOTS of rain and plenty of peaceful time for reflecton while never disrupting your power. Amen.

Thunder said...

I think you're gonna get your Rain!
Talk to ya after your power comes back up!

You know they make these things called generators! ;-)

I've been thinking about you. I've not had a chance to check your blog since I went back to school this week. Glad all is well and I hope you enjoy a perfect all-day rain. Not too much, not to little. Have a fun snow day!

When I taught near LA we would have wind days. Before I moved there I thought Santa Anna's were nice, romantic ocean breezes. I sure was wrong!

Swampangel,
LOL! I was just looking at the Accuweather radar and thinking that same thing.

Thunder,
Generators? We dont need no stinking generators!
... well not yet anyway.
:)

Kathleen,
I've heard wind can drive people crazy.
I hopy your first week went well!

Vicki,
Thank you for keeping me on track.
We are just fine.

Kathy A,
I like that. Thank you.

Aunty,
She's blustering here right now.

Don't know what I did that warranted my comment being deleted, but I won't be back to visit as a result.

Anon,
You are mistaken.
I have not deleted any comments from this post or any of my posts in a very long time.
Of course if you ARE staying away, you won't actually see this response.
