Degrees Of Color, Degrees Of Happiness

Not Much Color:
This young Bald Eagle was feeding on some hunter provided carrion about a quarter mile from PFHQ. He was one of a trio that flew up from what you see in the picture below. He was the only one who alighted nearby for one quick shot before leaving to join the others.

A Little More Color:
This is what attracts the eagles. Field dressed wild hog and deer carcasses litter the rural roads around here this time of year.
It's a scavenger's buffet as the successful hunters feel a need to cart the remains to the roadside instead of just leaving them out in the woods.
Do they do this in your neck of the woods?

Color Overload?
Not to me, but then ... I'm FC aren't I?
From left to right starting at the top:
Kitchen - Jr.'s room - Our room
Living room - Katie's room -upstairs bath
Emma's room - hallway - repeat of kitchen
Yes, I skipped a few bathrooms, but you get the point.

This collage is a response to one of my oldest blogpals, Pablo, who commented last week that he remembered PFHQ being a colorful happy place. He made that comment based on his memory of previous remodeling posts where the various rooms above were being remodeled.

He was right. He often is.

We be colorful ... and rumor has it we will be happy when the living room is finally finished.

That's what I will be doing today ... trying to achieve happiness.

Y'all have an amazing Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to your family too.

I think the rooms look wonderfully cheerful.

Gorgeous colorfulness! Thanks for sharing.
And yeah, the hunters do it here too, middle of the hayfield is a popular one.
Have a delightful Thanksgiving!!

It's a sad commentary that buzzards are better citizens than hunters...

Purple being my favorite color, I like Emma's room the best, but it all looks quite cheerful

Wishing everyone a warm & peaceful Thanksgiving

Wow, I love the colors!! Not many people would have the cajones to use so many different ones, but I think it's great. You've given me ideas...

Don't listen to that Pablo. He's a goofball.

I think I like that lavender room the best.

Love all the colours! It's interesting to see how different your kids' personalities are.

Our eejit hunters throw carcasses (and various forms of trash) in the little creek that comes out of the woods about 1/2 block from our driveway.

Most people are surprised to learn that bald eagles are scavengers. DS says they're just vultures with a press agent. 8-]

Have a blessed turkey day!

Homeownership is all about the eternal projects that keep evolving.

Your colors have given me the inspiration to think beyond shades of white and beige in my new house. Colorful = happy.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Yes... they leave dead animal bits lying around the roadsides quite a bit. Our dogs used to bring home deer legs.

I love your house. It does look quite cheery! My downstairs is all one color, but upstairs, each bedroom is a different color. We still haven't painted bathrooms or the hall yet, but I imagine they're going to be different too. I do that to all my houses!

Hey Happy Thanksgiving FC!

Catching up after the Trip to Japan:

How's that deer smelling now?
Wish I could have been there to see the dillo!
I'm pretty sure if there were deer and hog carcases (or is that Carcasi?)here they would end up in soup or as hot pot! ;-)

So as not to repeat myself, let me say that we let the kids pick their colors... it's only paint afterall ... can't explain the orange kitchen, just know that I was NOT the one responsible for picking that one!

Dee,
Happy Thanksgiving!

3C,
The farther south you go the more colorful it gets!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Bee,
Everyone who enters Emma's room calms down immediately. It's a very tranquil room. I write PF in Katie's red chili pepper room.
(She is away at college)
Happy Thanksgiving!

Swampangel,
We are not slaves to fashion ... heehee.
Go get colorful!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Mysterio,
I see you know him.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving pal.

Sophie,
Press agent! hah! Pretty true though.
Yes, the kids are all quite different.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Kathy A,
I don't know if it's bravery or just the freedom of being clueless about interior design.
heehee
Happy Thanksgiving!

Troll,
I'm not allowed to use those colors either.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Patti,
Emma would like your purple stripes.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Dani,
I really like the red too. That's where I write.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Robert,
True dat!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Deb,
Our house is like a brown crayon box. Pretty plain on the outside, but whoa! The inside rocks!
Go for it!
It's only paint.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Sayre,
I like the different bedroom colors too. Every room has a distinct personality.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Dave,
It's so cold here that the deer is not smelling all that much. 27 this morning, 39 right now at 11pm.

Oops, Dave, Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, too. When we count our blessings you are on our list. Your advice to oldest son about the NPS has paid off. Paying attention to the qualities they were looking for helped him take the classes he would need. It seems that taking conversational Japanese is the ticket for being successful in Hawaii! Thanks for being a good mentor even long distance!

Is Katie's room "volcanic eruption"? That looks like the color we painted our kids playroom. I never thought I'd see that in anyone elses house
