THE SUMMER GAMES ... PILEATED Pas de deux

Late in the day, almost too late for photography,  a pair of pileated woodpeckers played peek-a-boo around an old oak in my woods.

I only captured the last few moments, it went on for some time before, I was able to get close enough for the shot.

I love my pseudoivorybills ...

How cool! We have them too, but don't see them very often. LOVE the music!

Funny video. Very cute to put the music to the 'dance.'

Well that was awesome! I rarely get the chance to photograph the pileated woodpecker; in fact my last shot was on a very gray day last winter.

LOVED this! Two of my favorite things: Pileated woodpeckers and Irish jigs.

These P.Woodies must be one of N.A.'s most widespread species!
