Status Of My Pond Per Your Requests

This is part of the All Request Weekend started by Laura of Vitaminsea.

Vicki and Sandy wanted to see what the pond looks like these days.

Too thick to drink, too thin to plow.

Frogs and minnows are in emergency mode.

This boring hurricane season has failed to fill it as I had hoped.Posted by Picasa

Ackk. We've had so much rain that it filled up retention ponds near me that were drying out much the way yours is in this picture. The grasses grew in place of the water, turning the ponds into a swampy marsh...almost.
Please don't mention the "h" word. I'm holding my breath that we make it through this month without one!

Nerve of you, mentioning the Deltona Corp on my blog. Don't you know I'm against free publicity for developers?
(just kiddin..) ;)

Laura,
Sorry about the Deltona reference, they were the first cancerous developer that came to mind.

Pablo,
'Tis a fine crop of mud we've raised this year!

Wow, that's a lot worse than I had expected! What happened to all the fish that escaped otterization??

Ah...this is bad...you really need lots of rain. Maybe this winter you'll get a rainy season that will fill your pond up. It's worse than I thought.

HTeen,
Fish that escaped??? Only the tiniest minnows and baby bream. They are hanging on in the inches of water that remain.

Sandy,
Fall is dry, but winter can be pretty wet with stalled cold fronts and Gulf moisture. Got my fingers crossed.
