Nice. But the real reason I'm here is, Mr. Attitude wants to tell you what a nice picture of a whooping crane you have there on your sidebar. I keep telling him it's an egret, but he won't hear it. :)

May I send my husband down for lessons? That looks gorgeous. What a great post. What a nice family.

Deb,
Maybe he knows something we don't ;)
Tell him thanks anyway!
Whoop, Whoop!!

Cathy,
I don't know if doing something twice a year makes me an instructor!
:)

Loved your description of the "wreck the kitchen, hold your breath and pray" cake - most of my cooking is that way. I do *science experiments* in the kitchen - sometimes they turn out pretty good!

Your cake looks yummy - bet the wife will be pleased on her birthday. Hope it lasts that long.

didn't know there was such a thing as poppy seed filling...have to try that for my last-born child. Happy birthday to your "best girl!"

It's overachievers like you that make life harder for the rest of us guys, you, you, Alpha Male!

Laurahinnj,
I did too ... wreck the kitchen that is. Thanks! It's one of those cakes that's sweet, but not suffocatingly so.

Mel,
It's one of those flavors she brought to the merger.
Good luck trying to find it, Winn Dixie seems to have stopped carrying it.

Pablo,
ROFLASCE!
...and spewing coffee everywhere.
Cracking me up!

I have to learn not to read any of Pablo's responses while I have coffee in my mouth.

Nice job on the cake...you know I still use your salad dressing recipe all the time.
